I've never been to the griffon, but the rooftop is awesome. I'd be game, but I think i'm going to stick with Wild Wings since it's so close to the venue. Driving from downtown to the PAC in rush hour traffic will not be a pleasant experience.

Thanks for that. Hopefully they will play them in Charleston next week. Can't wait to hear them.
-
Yeah, I would need two because my wife would be coming along.
-
I was actually thinking about just saying fuck it and going to this show. There is still a buy link on Wilcoworld, but no tickets are showing up when I search ticketmaster. Oh well... Maybe if two tickets show up on VC, I'll go.
-
I asked my friend and he's going to be at the beach that week. If all else fails, I'm sure there will be people needing tickets at the show.
-
I'm surprised no one has said anything about the new songs. They must not have been earth shattering.
-
Damn, there are several videos of the show on youtube and there is indeed an excessive amount of talking. I would have been pissed. But I'm sure it was still an amazing show.
-
That explains it.
-
Hmm. I wonder why I haven't received this yet. I always get the Wilco HQ emails.
-
Yeah, webcrawler used to be my favorite back in the early 90's. Not too impressed with this cuil deal. It's not terrible, but by far no Google.

Can't wait for 8/7. And I love your Music Michael. For my money it doesn't get any better than when you sing "When a Man Loves a Woman"!

Haha yeah, Sportz Cafe is kind of a dive. Its only good to watch football because of the huge movie theater sized screen. Buffalo Wild Wings should have a descent selection of beers.
-
It could have been that one thread that ran Cousin Tupelo off. The one about the certain VCers that love to screw with people... Yeah, oh well. There is indeed a Wild Wings right down the street from the PAC. I've never been to one, but I've heard good things so it looks like you've found a winner. Buffalo Wild Wings - North Charleston Cool. So this will be our pre-show hangout? Anyone else want to meet?

Happy birthday

Me too. Back to the topic, this is the only board I go to. If I am going to talk about another band, it's always here at VC.

Not just Charleston threads.. He's the VC thread stalker.

A lot of it has to do with the sound quality. Most of the venue's they play are smaller theaters, and they were intentionally built for music/acoustics. When I saw Wilco at Ovens in Charlotte, the sound quality was the best I have ever heard at any concert and it had to do with the theater design. I'm sure they sounded amazing at the Ryman in Nashville. I've never seen them at an arena, but I've seen plenty of other arena shows and the sound was always very echoey and distorted.

I fixed it.. I meant top 10 most requested.
-
I knew that was coming, but I figured it would be a lot sooner. Get on your game Jules.

And all this time, I have been requesting "She's A Jar" at Wilcoworld. Now I'm going to request that one. Man what a great song! Top Ten Most requested songs for Charleston show: Dreamer in my dreams Can't Stand It Airline to Heaven Casino Queen Handshake Drugs Misunderstood She's A Jar Remember the Mountain Bed Ashes Of American Flags California Stars There's some old gems in there. Dreamer in my dreams?? I never would have guessed that one to be in such high demand. Awesome!

Ah, I thought maybe Wilco was doing songs for Holiday Inn Express commercials now or something.
-
Yeah, I think we're staying at the Red Roof.. It's not the Ritz Carlton by far, but its close to the venue and it has a bed. How do you know the Wilcos will be at the Holiday Inn Express?

After nearly eight months of anticipation, the show is only two weeks away. watch me fall and I were discussing that we should find a place near the venue to get together beforehand since a few VCers will be there. The only place I know of is the Sportz Cafe. Yeah, it's kind of a dive (at least it was when I was there a couple years ago) but it's really close the the venue and it has lots of beer and food. Anyone have another place in mind?
-
Yeah, I'm a little concerned about this too seeing him at the Performing Arts Center in Charleston. It's a pretty big place, and I'm sure people will be chatting and trying to find their seats while he's playing. But I should still be able to hear him well since I'll be on the front row.
-
Definitely an interesting and from the looks of it, small venue. Should be an awesome show.
