  1. I did a search, and didn't see it. I don't even see the someone else's song section.
  2. My 10 year will be next year. I'm with cryptique. I would get my highschool buddies together and drink beer and play poker. Wait.. I do that anyway every week. I wasn't too big on highschool. For my Senior prom, we showed up, stole some food, then went my my house and drank beer. Good times.
  3. 94.. Great year for Rock N Roll.
  4. What pisses me off the most though, is when I get gas yesterday morning and pay $3.89. Then, on my way home from work, the same gas station is selling it for $3.77.. Yeah, I guess I only spent $1.50 more, but still....
  5. I think he was half-way joking with his post. But regardless, it's a joke to still be pissed off when the concert is four weeks away.
  6. Exactly. It's slightly different at the beginning, but the rest of it is DAMN close. But I guess the walk up at the beginning is their way of getting around the copyright issue.
  7. I remember there was a thread for this a long time ago. They very well could have taken that guitar riff from "Someone Else's Song", but it is a very common chord progression used in countless folk songs. I believe Jeff Tweedy was aware of this too when he wrote it, hence the name "Someone Else's Song".
  8. So when the hell are they going on tour? Unfortunately, the new album is already starting to get old for me. It's a pretty good album.. WAY better than their last, but it's still far from Blue or Pinkerton.
  9. I wouldn't go as far as to say it's an embarrassment, but it's probably their worst record. There's still a few great songs on it.
  10. Ah, sounds wonderful. I took a Jim Hall course in music college. Can't wait.
  11. I saw them a decade ago in Charlotte, NC. It was a great show and Paul could still sing his balls off.
  12. Cool.. I'll have to listen to that later. I was wondering if they do any traditional jazz, or if it is just avant-garde madness the whole time.
  13. Exactly.. well said. I remember being warped for a short period in my pre-teen years, but I was quickly brought back to my senses when I heard this new band called Nirvana. Even though I can hardly listen to Nirvana anymore, they really were the band that got me into rock music.
  14. I'm incredibly happy that both of my kids (3 and 4) LOVE Wilco and the Beatles. They are the only two bands they listen to. They are always asking me to play "Remember my mother" (You Are My Face) and "Hey Jude". I just hope they keep their great musical taste.
  15. Nice/interesting story irdb. Although the ending was a little anticlimactic. I was kind of hoping that you did indeed try to kick his ass, but he fought back with karate or something.
  16. Awesome post my friend. I think that's the first time I've actually read the entire Declaration of Independence. Ever seen the actual document at the Smithsonian? I love how John Hancock singed it in HUGE letters so it would be sure to get the British attention.
  17. Happy birthday my friend. Hope it's a good one.
  18. I'm gonna be really pissed if I get sued for watching the Peter Griffin and Michael Moore Dueling Farts video, over and over...
  19. I've only been to Asheville a couple times, but the area around the mall and The Orange Peel should be fine for lodging. I know of a couple shady hotels, but the Days In and Sleep Inn should be fine.
  20. My wife and I got tickets the other day. You should go. There's a Barley's Taproom across the street from The Orange Peel. It's a great place to enjoy a before the show.
  21. Here's my cover of My Darling that I posted a while back. I'm a little unhappy with the DI guitar sound, but other than that's it's a nice little recording.
