new song played at democratic rally?
lamradio replied to southern hotel foxtrot's topic in Just A Fan
Yeah I'm very surprised that it hasn't surfaced yet. There's always tapers at Wilco shows, but maybe this was different since it was a dem rally. -
I know, and we didn't even get to go to Barleys! We got held up in Greenville (childcare issue) and didn't make it to Asheville until just before the show. But yes, Barleys will do that to you.

Nels Cline signed my wife's calender/organizer book at the Singers show Saturday. I'm starting the bidding at 1 million dollars.
-
Glad to see you made it back safely. My wife wanted to apologize for being a bit of a sloppy drunk after the show. She doesn't drink very often and often embarrasses herself when she's had too much. She certainly embarrassed me. But it's all good, and we had a wonderful time that we won't forget. See ya next time.

It was an amazing, intense show. It was great to see Nels let loose and not hold anything back. I was very impressed with the other two musicians as well. Also, it was nice to meet you Maggie.

I love Barack n Roll! We built this city on Barach N Roll! We will, we will Barach you!!

I used to listen to him all the time, but I stopped because he's.. well.. going mad.... I really think his mental health has slipped some over the last couple of years, and his autism comment is a good example. Absolutely ridiculous.
-
Yeah, I've been to a couple shows there and they were both standing only. But like three dollars said, maybe there will be tables in the back. I saw The Wailers there a couple years ago, and it was packed wall to wall. You could barely see the band from all of the "tobacco smoke"

Great. Then, we'll probably stay at Barley's a little later then.. Have a couple more My name really is Lamrod. No I'm just kidding, it's Matt. See ya!
-
See you there Three dollars.. My wife and I will be at Barleys up until the doors open (7 PM). We'll look for the silver purse. And hopefully Nels will get to stop by as well.

That's the G rated version of what I was going to say.
-
Excellent. Let us know how it goes. I hope you enjoy.

Your kids thought this was cute? No really, I'm highly allergic to them. I once got stung on the back of the neck and I broke out in hives and had to go to the ER.

That's going in my sig. Thanks for posting.

His kids music career is over, but I'm sure his Rock N Roll career will be rejuvenated -

How can a band called "Barenaked Ladies" release a kids CD? -
Well, you'll still be seeing Nels a couple weeks later..... With WILCO! Right?
-
That would be spectacular. He's definitely on my list of "people I would love to have a beer with". And I'll look for the silver purse. I've been here for over a year, and have never met a VCer.
-
Ah, more good news. Thanks solace. Looking foward to seeing his new 3 piece in a few weeks.
-
Have you seen this? Great performance, and you can understand what he's saying for the most part.
-
Thats good to hear. I know his solo stuff is sort of a side project from another band (can't remember the name) but I hope he sticks with this permanently.
-
I'm going to see them in Charlotte in September. Has anyone here seen them live? I've been a fan for a few years now. Pinback is great chill, drive and relax music.
-
Yeah I have found that people either absolutely LOVE Bon Iver (like myself) or hate him. I'm not even sure exactly why I love his music so much. I guess because it has that sort of old folk/blues feel to it, but also combined with a more modern indie sound. Plus I love the haunting, tenor vocals. Like thankyoufornotthingatall said; it has hit me on levels i didn't know existed...

So who's going Saturday? My wife and I will be at the show and we'll also be at Barley's beforehand enjoying some tasty brews. It's less than a block from The Orange Peel. 72 taps! I highly recommend it for great brew and food. I'm a huge Nels fan and I'm pretty damn excited. It'll be my first Nels Cline Singers show.

Jeff Tweedy, Glenn Kotche & Pat Sansone @ Park West July 11
lamradio replied to Dr. Steve Brule's topic in After The Show
Thanks cryptique. It's a pretty good version. The vocals are a little too high for Jeff though.
