That's my plan. Cool, so you are going to Cary? Me too. My wife and I are making a vacation out of it like you suggested..
-
Ah. . Well hey, don't give up hope yet. I don't even mess with pre-sale. It either sells out in minutes, or the site has technical difficulties. Probably a type-o.
-
Calm down.. They officially go on sale the 25th. The pre-sale may be sold out, but there will still be great seats when they go on sale publically. I've never purchased presale tickets to a Wilco show, and I've always managed to score great seats.
-
They really need to do Behind The Music.. They have had an interesting career. Plenty of material to fill an entire show.

Are there any bands you hope will reunite?

The Rolling Stones Oh wait.. They need to do the opposite. Retire already! -

Hum They are all still alive, not doing much.. Why not? They did one show in 2005 for about 3,000 people, and they rocked the roof off of the place. -
I miss the days when I lived in Boston and I had a 10 minute walk to work/school. Except for when it was 10 below zero.. That's when I wished I had a car.. Now I have a 30 mile commute to work and back (about 40 minutes)

That's definitely going on my list of greatest quotes ever.. So true.. -
Ok, I finally heard the new song in it's entirety. It starts off sounding kind of cheesy or "Make Believeish", but as soon as it kicks into the chorus, it totally rocks in that old fashioned Weezer that I love kind of way.. The guitar tone sounds cool too, but I can't fully judge it until I can hear it on a good stereo. That's another thing that let me down post-Pinkerton.. Rivers completely went half-ass on his guitar tone. The blue album had a fat, heavy guitar sound that I tried to re-create for years (and pretty much inspired me to learn guitar) and Pinkerton had that dirty, feedbacky

Don't forget about the Wilco presale.
-
That was enough to convince me not to click.

Lyrics have never exactly been Weezers strong point. They were pretty good on Blue and Pinkerton and they started going downhill with the release of Green.. By the time they got to Make Believe, my four year old son could have written better lyrics... But still, I like the new song and hope to hear more of it.. I'm not going to lie, I'm pretty damn excited about the new record.

Sorry to hear that Maddie.. I'd LOVE to go to both, but my wife is going to take a little convincing.. I'd like to go just for the venue alone.. The reviews on the website say "Felt like I was watching a concert in my backyard". It's about a 4 hour drive to Charleston for me, and then a four hour drive to Cary, NC from there.. We'll see.
-
Ah, no problem.... I didn't realize it could take that long, so I'll continue my patience. Thanks for the info.

August 8th - Cary, NC - KOKA BOOTH AMPHITHEATRE That definitely looks like an interesting venue.. Hmm.. Charleston one night, NC the next.. Very tempting... Definitely have to discuss this with my wife.. Thinking of attending Watch Me Fall?
-
So... Any news on the audio yet? Still patiently waiting..
-
It's 7:07.. Do you know where your bread penis is?

Cool! Nice work. I've always wanted to make a guitar.. But I can barely solder a pickup into my guitar, so it would probably be a disaster..
-
Same with Deep Purple.. They classified themselves as more pop rock. In those days, those bands were definitely considered Metal.. Or at least Hard Rock.. No one could come close to the guitar sound on Volume 4. Now days, the Metal guitar sound is nothing but digitized garbage..
-
I would have to pick three and it would have to be Sabbath, Deep Purple and Zepplin.. They all formed around the same time, so it's hard to tell really which one was the first true metal band, but personally, Zepplin and Deep Purple blow away Sabbath.. I don't even have to say how great LZ was, but Deep Purple's "Machine Head" is probably the greatest metal album of all time.. In my opinion..

Gottcha. I want one now..
-
Yeah, the first time I heard that song I thought "this has gotta be a joke.. "... It was very painful indeed.
-
Wow. I always thought it was a mandolin.. Dulcimer eh? That makes Glenn just that much cooler...
-
I almost forgot about that. One of his legs was longer than the other, so he had surgery to correct it. I remember he played a few shows with those braces..
-
So I guess that means Lollapalooza, San Fran, and Ireland aren't confirmed? I didn't see them on the calendar. I'm starting to think those are the only "handful of cool/exciting shows" from the newsletter that we are going to get.
