  1. I'm wondering the same.. Allthough Maladroit had some good stuff on it, Make Believe is a joke..
  2. Everytime I have thought "3,000 or more for an acoustic, man, it can't really be all that great...".. But every time, I am proven wrong.. They ARE that great. Like a good Martin.. The expensive kind.. They just sound/feel unbelieveable.. And I bet that 6k Breedlove is amazing to play..
  3. Oh yeah, one of my bandmates just got a Mexi-Strat.. Plays awesome, looks and feels like American, but it doesn't stay in tune as well as my American.. But you get what you pay for. I still like it, and I'm thinking about getting one to use for a back-up. You just can't go wrong with Fender.. Mexi, or American.. I have dropped mine on the concrete before, had a chip on the bottom of course, but it didn't even lose tune and I played the rest of the show.. A friend of mine dropped his Gibson less Paul and the neck completely broke off.
  4. ... sorry.. always wanted to use that one.. Just kidding though.. I'd go to jail and end up introducing myself to neighbors.. etc..
  5. Something does need to be changed.. Lets all start writing our congressmen!
  6. My friend had a Epi Goldtop Les Paul.. It sounded great, played great, but couldn't stay in tune worth a crap. So he replaced the tuners with Grovers and after that it was perfect. But then it got stolen out of his car... But yes, I'm a Fender man too.. Always will be. I still play my 1994 Sunburst American Strat.. Best guitar I've ever owned..
  7. Well she definitely didn't come from a family of geniuses, so I'm sure the stupidity part had a lot to do with it..
  8. You know, it really must be actually.. A lot of people saw those commercials and said "man, who is that band.. that's great stuff..".. Next thing you know, they go out and buy SBS and realize they have many other albums, pick those up too, and they become hooked for life.. And of course go to a show, because everyone knows Wilco is amazing live.
  9. Thanks everyone.. I really appreciate the comments. And thanks for pointing that out Mr. Tibbles. I didn't spend that much time on the mixdown and since you mentioned it, I do notice that one of the tracks (the guitar with the capo) could come down some. I'll consider adding piano to a future version, but I think I'll keep this one just acoustic guitar. But I agree, the piano would add a nice touch.
  10. On a financial standpoint, I'm sure Wilco is laughing all the way to the bank when brokers buy up their tickets, but Wilco is a band that really does care about their fans.. I don't believe they are in it for the money and I'm sure it upsetts them to see their fans having to bend over for the brokers..
  11. I think it's pretty darn cool that every date in February is sold out except for Charleston (which will probably sell out soon).. Good for Wilco.. I don't remember the shows earlier this year selling out that fast. But I just hope it's not because of the ticket brokers/scalpers are buying them all up.. Well, actually it's not cool for everyone that can't go to these shows.. Or have to pay a scapler..
  12. I just remember my father used to always perform "Leader Of The Band" during family gatherings, and he would make my grandmother cry every time.. Rest In Peace Dan.
  13. Man, I didnt even think it was possible to laugh as hard as I did at your post ction.. Ok, sorry for my arrogant post about Berklee people!! I mean, I should atleast get some kind of recognition for going there and becoming a "guitar hero".. The school didn't do much for my music career and I'll be paying on the student loans for the rest of my life....
  14. Knew that was coming too.. hahaha.. That's the part I didn't like about Berklee.. I called them "musical weight lifters".. The Dream Theater wannabees.. .. See how many notes you can play in the shortest amount of time.. Or writing music that is definitely technical, but is so technical that it becomes FUBAR.. So if I had a Dream Theater shirt, you don't have to borrow it, you could keep it..
  15. Yeah, I knew that was coming.. And don't get me wrong, you don't have to be educated to point out a great guitarist, I guess I was kind of being a jackass by saying that.. I just get a little defensive when people talk bad about Nells because in my opinion, he's a brilliant guitarist and I wish I could play half as good as him.. I actually taught myself how to play too, and I dropped out of Berklee... LOL.. But sorry I offended you David Puddy.. No hard feelings.. Just like I said, I was just steemed when I wrote that post...
  16. Thanks everyone for the kind replies. Very good point. I have recorded/performed covers in the past where they were modified so much that you could barely tell what the original song was, but this time I wanted to make it sound as much like the original as I possible, but let the acoustic guitar change the dynamic of the song.
  17. I'll have to post my picture of my 4 year old completely mesmerized by Wilco on Austic City Limits.. I put it on for backround music while I was doing something in the kitchen, came into the living room and there he was.. He sat and watched 3 or 4 full songs.
  18. Looks like your the minority.. Others seem to like it. But hey, I don't mind a little criticism. Could you elaborate a little more on your "BOO!!!! HISS!"? lol
  19. Thank you. :-) I used a little program called Acoustica Mixcraft. It's always been my favorite... Few features, but it's nice and simple and the effects are great. The acoustic guitar has a built in pre-amp and I just run the guitar straight into a peavey mixer and then into the PC. Sounds pretty darn good for inexpensive equipment. Glad you like. :-)
  20. Thanks tweedy girl. Incase you haven't seen my other post, here you go: http://www.blackbeardstruck.com/my_darling.mp3
  21. Hope you like this. Feel free to comment. http://www.blackbeardstruck.com/my_darling.mp3
  22. Very true.. Thanks for your replies. I guess I was just being paranoid. I'll post in in a new topic shortly.
  23. Is is legal to post a cover of a Wilco song (or any cover) on the internet? Something I've always wondered, but haven't found a definite answer.. It seems there's sort of a grey area in this matter. I'm asking because I posted my cover of "My Darling", but took it down after about 10 minutes. I'd hate to get sued by my favorite band.. haha
