  1. Your list is actually very close to what I would come up with. Especially with the "Someday Soon" opener. If I had to choose a favorite Wilco song, that would be it. The setlist needs a little more AGIB though. I'd have Late Greats, and Theologians in there somewhere.
  2. What the hell is a Tween Rocker? Isn't Tween a period of adolescence for hobbits? Didn't know they were hobbits..
  3. I prefer the songs that Jeff sings on as well, but there are a few Billy Bragg tunes that are really good. "Way Over Yonder in Minor Key".. And "Hot Rod Hotel" is one of my favorite tunes of both albums... It's how I got my screen name..
  4. I wonder how many posts will be in this thread by the time the new president is elected. If it stays open, it'll be in the thousands..
  5. Fiveway Friday.. Kind of a college rock/indie band from South Carolina. They had moderate success in the late 90's when one of their songs was in a Dawson's Creek episode. One of their former members is actually in the band that I am in. Good, simple, happy, rock tunes.
  6. Basically my feelings.. All though Leno has that silly, "snicker laugh" kind of humor.. Like the drum fill kind of humor, and some people love that, just not me.. Letterman is a genius and a legend... He's funny when he's not trying to be.. Just his manorisms and how he talks to his guests is just hilarious. Conan definitely rules.. He has that "warped" since of humor that I love. I'll be driving down the road and think of something he has done on his show, and just start cracking up.. I hope he'll be remembered as one of the great comical geniuses of our time.
  7. Yeah, I've never cared too much for it (kind of plain and cliche), but a lot of people I know love it for some reason.. And anytime I play it solo at a show, the audience LOVES it... But it's still Wilco.. Their worst songs are better than most bands best songs..
  8. Yeah, and most of their other shows too. It's pretty cool to see SOLD OUT in red on the website. I know Charleston is sold out because you can't get tickets.. Even though it doesn't say it on the site yet. Good for Wilco!
  9. Yeah, good point.. Just want to give him credit that he does have the ability and it's defintely in his sense of humor to make people think he's totally losing it.
  10. Awesome! Now if SBS could just win that Grammy.. We'll see.. They deserve it.
  11. I think he's doing it on purpose... He could write his own material if he wanted to (check his history, he's been a writer for many shows including the Simpsons).. That's just his sense of humor. He's one of those comedians kind of like Andy Kaufman was.. Makes you go "what the fuck?".
  12. Wow.. And he may be gaining another fan today too.. This is my first time hearing/seeing him Andrew Bird On Letterman Like letterman says, "very impressive"... Holy shit, this guy is amazing..

    9:30 !

It was a beautiful show indeed.. One I will never forget.
  14. I agree.. It atleast needs "The Late Greats" if you can fit it.
  15. Wow, I didn't know that! All this time, how did I miss that. Thanks
  16. Well first of all, why? And second.. I don't incorporate politics with music.. Never have, never will. Woody was a brilliant songwriter and musician who has inspired many, so thats why he's in my sig. Oh wait, I was supposed to stop posting in this thread.. haha.. Sorry if I have pissed some off.. I'm just speaking my mind. I try to make a point not to talk politics or religion because they are both incredibly complicated topics, but every once and a while I'll slip up.. So.... Anyway.. Wilco rules!
  17. If those programs weren't there, then they wouldn't be flowing in by the thousands and we wouldnt have to worry about them being a risk. I'm sorry that they were born in Mexico and into poverty.. I really am... But we can't let our country suffer for other peoples problems... It's just setting a bad precedent for our country as a whole. We can't have a "free for all" attitude, because too many people will take advantage of us for it.
  18. No, they defintely don't all do that and I suppose I should have made that clear.. In fact, a lot of them are great, hard working people. But they are still here illegally.
  19. Good point.. I can't argue with that one.. But it still doesn't make it right to give immigrants free health care.. It's giving them an invitation to come over here, live off of our government, commit crime, etc etc etc.. Hell, I don't blame the immigrants themselves though. Even though it's morally wrong, but I mean shit, they come from absolutely nothing.. Absolutly nothing in Mexico is worse than absolutely nothing in the U.S.
  20. I know, but when your talking taxes, you would be amazed how much money goes to that.. I know it because my mother works at a free clinic.. It's definitely not a Republican idea to give the illegal immigrants free healthcare..
  21. Right, and that is what taxes should be for... Not to pay for illegal immigrants to have free health care at your local clinic. My post is just an idea of what the Republican party should stand for. Yes there is a lot of corruption and opression in the republican party, but for individuals like you and me, if everyone had the idea of "I'm going to work as hard as I can to get what I want and not depend on anyone or any program" then this country would be a lot better.. And that is a fact..
  22. haha.. Yeah that is a great riff.. Is that Jeff playing that riff or Jay? Probably Jay.. Jeff didn't really get into the lead stuff until later.
  23. Father/daughter talk... A young woman was about to finish her first year of college. Like so many others her age, she considered herself to be a very liberal Democrat, and among other liberal ideals, was very much in favor of higher taxes to support more government programs, in other words redistribution of wealth. She was deeply ashamed that her father was a rather staunch Republican, a feeling she openly expressed. Based on the lectures that she had participated in, and the occasional chat with a professor, she felt that her father had for years harbored an evil, selfish desire to keep
  24. That's a tough decision to make.. It's hard replacing any Wilco song because they are all great in their own way, but if it was my CD, I would replace Casino Queen. It's still a great tune, but IMO, the weakest of that list. And I'm sure I'll catch hell for this!
