  1. No problem. Hopefully other people that have problems can refer to this thread. But what really needs to happen is Wilco (whoever takes care of these kinds of things for the band) needs to change the way the bonus content is accessed. It needs to be able to work with the latest and greatest Quicktime or a completely different method.
  2. It looks like you have a new version, and any version past 7.2 no longer supports flash movies for security reasons. You can get an older version here: http://oldapps.com/quicktime_player.htm Try version 7.1.3.. That one should work. You'll probably have to uninstall your current version before you install the old one. After you install 7.1.3, you will see the option in the advanced tab to Enable Playback of Flash Tracks.
  3. Yes, I can't wait.. I'm hoping they pull out a lot of old songs, but I'll be happy with whatever they play. Charleston is a great place to spend the weekend.. Plenty to do. My wife and I will definitely be at one of the many pubs before the show.
  4. Mine are a little two young to take to a Wilco concert yet. One is 2 and the other is 4.. They would get ancy after a few songs and want to run around the place.. Wouldn't make the concert very fun for my wife and I. But they do love Wilco.. They are glued to the TV when I play them the Wilco on ACL DVD.. And when we get in the car, my four year old always screams "I wanna here I remember my mother! play I remember my mother!"
  5. Ah, so that's Lilac.! What a great moment when she did that in Charlotte. That was the highlight of the evening! She did it in Asheville too eh? What a great kid! And cool parents too..
  6. What did Jeff mean by the Altamont crack? Was the crowd violent or something? haha I have heard the Lilac Rain family mentioned before.. Who are they? Sorry if I sound so "out of the loop".. I plan to do a roll call when the show gets closer, if someone doesn't do one before me.. I'd like to meet some VC'ers
  7. I love "Company In My Back" live. It blows the album version away.. Especially the version from Kicking TV.. I love the little Nels Cline guitar fills after "listen to my eyes". Brilliant..
  8. IMO, Once you go seated, you never go back.. Most seated theatres like the Tower have the best sound and really no bad seat in the house.. Yeah, you might be able to get closer at a ga show, but you don't have to worry about people bumping you around, and most theatres are slanted so you can see over the people in front of you better.
  9. Yep, and it'll probably be even tougher this year since the online ticket brokers seem to be more active.. I have a feeling there is going to be a lot of pissed off VC'ers posting here in the next couple of days.. I would go for the presale on this one if you can..
  10. Yeah, one show is plenty for me.. I can't handle much more than that.. I'll have a rock overdose.. haha j/k.. Between the Charlotte show in June, and now this one in Feb, that's enough rest time.
  11. Thats good to hear then.. I'm glad they are selling out places. I just hope all the VCr's got their tickets in time. Still in shock that I got front row. But the PAC is a great venue and there isn't a bad seat in the house.
  12. I think OSU will choke again like last year.. But we'll see..
  13. You know, intersting story about this song.. A good friend of my wife's sister was in a terrible car accident. Her sister, sister's husband, and one of their two children were killed. Of course my wife's friend was devestated. My wife wanted to do what she could to offer some comfort, so she gave her "On & On & On". Her friend had never even heard of Wilco.. She loved it so much and said that it really did help with the pain.. That's just a perfect example of how music can have a great effect on people. Especially during hard times.
  14. I already have my tickets for Charleston, but I have been checking the ticketmaster site from time to time to see if/when the show sells out.. Well, I went there last night and it says "we cannot find tickets that match your request" if you choose any number and best available. Just went there again, and same thing.. Does this mean it's sold out? It doesn't say so on the Wilco site, or on ticketmaster.. Hmm..
  15. That's terrible.. Those original recordings should have been kept by family members, not in the Jamaican archives.. That government is so f'd up that who knows what happened to them.. The government probably sold them off themselves..
  16. Well, I'll be in the audience and in the front row, so of course I'm stoked.. Do you think Wilco actually keeps up with that stuff? If so, that would be really really cool if they make this show extra special.
  17. Right on! I really gained a new appreciation for his playing when I heard The Nels Cline Singers.. Wow.. Just.. Wow.. Welcome to VC Avi_Buffalo!
  18. Well, now I'm gonna have to get Panda Bear.. I'm always intrigued by the weird stuff.. For example, Grizzly Bear amazes me everytime I listen - Weird, brilliant stuff... I'm a songwriter and I've never been able to write anything very weird without it sounding ridiculous and dumb.. So I have always wondered; for artist like Panda Bear, when they are about to write a song, do they think "ok, I'm going to try and make this as weird as possible" or does it just come out that way naturally?
  19. Wow, that's a great practice to go by.. I wish I would have gone by that all of the times I have played Martins, Gibson hollow bodies, etc.. You really do get what you pay for... There is no such thing as a shitty $3,000+ guitar, although I have heard that Les Pauls have slipped quite a bit in quality lately...
  20. Happy birthday Nels Cline.. You are the finishing touch that made Wilco in my opinion the "perfect band" and have drastically influenced my guitar playing.
  21. Oops, misread the post.. I was thinking the last 10 years.. Modifying my list.. Ah, nevermind.. I'll just delete and repost later..
  22. If we stop bumping it, maybe everyone will forget about it... Oops...
  23. Ah, well that answers it then.. Thanks! When I saw them in June, they played mostly SBS tunes.. Which isn't a bad thing of course.. It would be kind of nice to hear them play a little of everything for my next show, but I'll take it either way. They will still always throw out the gems.. Like they played "California Stars" and "Always In Love" in Charlotte.
  24. What is the deal? Guess GutenAbend has bailed on us..
  25. Would you say that the latest tour dates are for a whole new tour, like a Spring 08 tour, or is it a continuation of the Sky Blue Sky Tour? I'm just curious to know what kind of tunes they will be playing.. I wonder if it will still be mostly Sky Blue Sky, or a mix-up of all albums.. I know what they'll be doing for The Winter Residency of course, but what about for later dates.
