  1. If I could Rock a beard that awesome, I would.. Mine gets too patchy..
  2. You are correct on that, and that was really one of the main reasons the Union won the war. Lincoln knew that if he played the slavery card against the South, the Confederacy would never be recognized by other countries. But regardless of if the Confederates truly believed in slavery or not, as soon as Lincoln pulled out the slavery card (Emancipation Proclamation), the Confederacy was doomed..
  3. You can look at this in so many different ways, but to me, the Confederates were today's true conservatives, and the Federals were today's true Liberals. The Confederacy saw that the Union was getting too imperial and oppressive, much like England was before the revolutionary war. States were having their rights and basic freedoms taken away, and this went against the constitution. The Confederacy was basically fighting for what the Constitution was supposed to represent, individual freedom and states rights. Today, conservatives want basically the same thing. Individual freedoms, a
  4. I dunno... I did sort of get the "this is an act" vibe from the interview.. But I also know that Joaquin is a few french fries short of an extra value meal..
  5. I guess I'm just a lead guitar nut that has listened to pretty much every style of lead guitar ever known to man.. From Jazz, to Country, to Rock, to you name it and Nels has a way of blending so many styles and sounds like no one has ever done before. Noodling would be the last thing in the world I would call it...
  6. I know, I'm just jerking people's chains. Favre will go down as one of the best, if not the best football player in the history of the game, and he deserves every bit of praise he receives.. His indecisiveness about retiring will eventually be forgotten..
  7. I think your on to something here. More reason not to have the fairness doctrine. It's not fair that every time I turn on an FM station, feces literally starts pouring out of my speakers.... But I just turn the radio off, and I don't listen.. Same should apply for AM talk radio. Just turn the damn radio off, don't listen..
  8. Conservatives think Liberals are stupid, Liberals think Conservatives are stupid. It will always be that way.. It's a Yin and yang thing..... The best is to find a happy medium and that's what I strive for..
  9. You are correct on that one. The hatred between the right and left has always amazed me. I do a lot of research on the American Civil War, and some of the things folks were saying before the war sound disturbingly similar to some of the things that are said today between the right and left.
  10. Geeze people.. Although I don't listen to Rush Limbaugh, I think it's incredibly insulting to say that his millions of listeners are stupid.
  11. So you would like our country to get one step closer to communism? It's because they have listeners... It's supply and demand. Yeah, agree or disagree with the conservative talk show hosts, they get good ratings so obviously a lot of people are listening. Exactly.
  12. Should I paste your faces over Maddens in that picture?
  13. Ah, understood. Must be a pretty small company. I work officially in IT.. Unfortunately..
  14. Well maybe it'll be for real this time. He took enough beating last time when he couldn't make up his damn mind.. And he'll finally get to:
  15. I know.. I'm quite disappointed in myself.
  16. I can't believe that I never knew Wilco was on the Spongebob Squarepants movie sound track. Their song "Just A Kid" is played at the main menu on the DVD. I've heard it a million times (my kids love the movie) and never realized it was Wilco! Crazy stuff..
  17. Agreed as well.. Although unfortunately some folks don't really get Nels.. Some folk's prefer the more traditional style of guitar playing like Jay produced, and some people just aren't lead guitar heads in general.. But hey you can't please everybody. I personally agree 100% that Nels should be able to completely go off and not hold anything back.. The album would be so amazing that the universe would explode...
  18. Nice tune versechorusjvh. Your voice kind of reminds me of Ryan Adams and that's a good thing. Keep it up, I think you've got talent.
  19. Wilco 1. I'm the Man Who Loves You (used to be a great song but for some reason it just annoys me now) 2. Shot in The Arm (another song that I used to love, but annoys me now) 3. Heavy Metal Drummer (same as 1 and 2) 4. Why Would You Wanna Live 5. That's not the issue Weezer Anything off of Make Believe and most of the Red Album More to come..
  20. Wes Montgomery's Gibson ES175. The greatest Jazz guitar tone ever created. Would also have to pick the strings with my thumb for effect.
  21. I'll have to check that out. I'm hooked on Civil War books right now. Just finished Gettysburg by James Reasoner. My all time favorite is The Killer Angels by Michael Shaarah. Probably one of the greatest novels ever.
  22. Thank you gentlemen. I'll give it until tonight and then construct my compilation.
  23. Good point. Maybe that's why I've never been a huge fan. This compilation is mostly for my wife cause she has been into them lately. But I really liked R.E.M.'s Monster; I wore that CD out.. 1994 was just a really good year for music for me. Weezer - Blue album, Portishead - Dummy, STP - Purple. While I'm thinking about it, 93 wasn't too shabby either. Pearl Jam - Ten, Nirvana - In Utero, Breeders - Last Splash, Radio Head - Pablo Honey, Flaming Lips, Smashing Pumpkins, etc. etc. Geeze, 93, 94.. Thats enough material for a whole thread.
  24. Yeah, in my opinion the best Rock N Roll guitar tone ever..
