Yeah, I agree here 100% And I really like that new Sparklehorse as well. Damn, you all have such good taste in music.

Well, hell yeah -- 4th row! Hey Owl, do you know if Ben Massarella will be performing with Califone at the Auditorium show? Just curious if we'll be treated to some extra percussion.
-
But Owl, is the Califone in Ann Arbor on Friday 12/08/2006 part true?

Have a great day Rob! Wilcobase is the single greatest invention since ... ... well, I don't have actual memories of when bread wasn't sliced, but I imagine it was a hassle.

Has anyone yet received their Wilco presale tix for the Auditorium?
Wendy replied to CraigB's topic in Just A Fan
I just got an email from MusicToday saying my presale Wilco tickets were in the mail, and a tracking number. Here's their disclaimer about the express mail/priority mail shipping: -
They are probably rewarding you for your wonderful post ...

Detholz! has more of an entertaining stage presence. For example, I remember in Kalamazoo when opening for Wilco, the keyboard player did a little jig while standing playing his keyboards. They reminded me of Oingo Boingo when I first saw them. Califone, on the other hand, are in no way anything like that. They are much more serious on stage and concentrating on the more intricate nuanced performance. Tim Rutili will sit down for some songs. It might appear boring to someone who likes more theatrics on stage. I personally prefer Califone's sound to Detholz!' sound. A great GREA

Click here to find out when your PBS station is deciding to run the show. It airs on our PBS station Nov 11th. Two great bands, IMO.

Way to go, Morgan! Now you can get into 18+ shows! Wooooooot! What's your first 18+ show gonna be? You girls are growing up so fast!

I love your optimism about Saturday night having an Encore #3

Uyen, have a fabulous day!

I am sooooo jealous! This sounds like a wicked great show. It's not like the band is lacking any whimsy or costumery on any other day of the year, but The Decemberists on Halloween? Lucky!

Yay gogo! I was looking around for it and never thought about AOL. Thank you for the link!

Yep, there's a lot of fans of Jay's work here. I will definitely be giving this a listen as soon as I can.

Regarding the downloads being free -- This is the Nonesuch press release copy about Sunken Treasure ... it has been posted on Wilcoworld HERE for many weeks. I'm not sure where the confusion about the definition of "free" got started. This is pretty clear to me.

How fun to have a Halloween week birthday! Hope your evening out found you surrounded by an interesting cast of characters!

sorry, hon - you're stuck with me and Ms Yvon! And Chandler I think, too. Although I think several of us will be playing musical chairs throughout the evening.

King Of Carrot Flowers Pt. 1 Warning - this YSI track in .wma format. My whole "Someone Else's Songs" collection listed below is in wma format, but I know it has been converted to mp3 somewhere along the line, but I don't have any of it. Maybe A-man, or someone else who has this in mp3 format, can re-post the track and/or both the discs? That would be great. Here's the entire collection track list ... thanks to A-Man for the track list which I snagged from the thread in the VC Archive. The YSI's in the archive are, of course, expired.

well, because we are facing each other (our ears are pointing toward the stage, and his pointing out at the audience) ... I guess that makes sense. But he really doesn't miss much. Yeah, from where we were sitting, the audience around us seemed completely attentive, quiet, respectful, and almost boring (especially compared to the recent rambunctious audience in Missouri! ) Oh yeah - Borat was in the audience tonight!

yeah, with pouring-down rain and just horrendous traffic on 465 around Indy, we were worried we'd be too late, but we walked in 10 minutes before Autumn Defense came on. Whew! Nice mellow set by John and Pat. Thanks to Jen for taking such a good setlist, and to MKH for identifying the Zamboni Man song and posting the list. I didn't recognize the song, even though I watched the movie short when it first came out, but according to WilcoBase (and MKH said this as well), Jeff has only played it live once before, at Raleigh. So that was cool. Does anyone know if this movie short is viewab
