We had distilled potatoes last night..........yummy!!

Not naive enough to think they were gone, just alarmed that what was once kept quite in my work environment is now starting to come out more and more.

Yesterday, a patient told me he hopes something "bad" would happen to O and today, a woman told a joke about O and dropped the N word. In a work environment that is dominated with GOP (which also is overwhelmingly caucasion), I firmly believe that fear and propaganda is bringing out the worst in people. At least that seems to be the case here. I told the patient that I understood he didn't want Obama to be President, but as a society, we should keep our dignity no matter what happens. I simply told the woman I was dissappointed in her and left it at that. Are we going backwards?

Thank God! McCain appears to be understanding the fever he helped create. Still, the reaction of the crowds at recent rallies were unbearable and despite today's small attempt to slow it's pace, I fear the ultimate outcome of this wave of uncertainty and anger can only lead to something bad. .....and it wouldn't hurt if Bush stepped up and reminded everyone how we are suppose to act as human beings.
