  1. Bumping this up, as there are alot of tickets for these shows on sale or going on sale soon. All seem to be on Ticketmaster so far.
  2. This collection is amazing. A bit pricey, but worth it if you are serious about John Prine. Also, a strange, but great album is 'In Spite of Ourselves' All cover duets with amazing women (Iris DeMent, Lucinda Williams, Emmylou Harris, and more) Someone once said something to the effect of John Prine in his 20s wrote like he was in his 60s, and it was meant in a very complimentary way. He's got a way with it. This looks like a nice tribute album.
  3. Wow, thanks for this, I'm only on Daniel, but it's amazing. In my own city even in a venue I know.
  4. Most of these performances are marginal, but Neil Young's Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues and All Along The Watchtower, along with George Harrison's Absolutely Sweet Marie are stellar. And Eddie Vedder's Masters of War is right in there.
  5. with Richard Thompson and the Smithereens in 91, whoa, that would've been good. Don't give up on Michigan....the last several dates on the list are from the Northwest to Calgary, MSP, and Chicago. Michigan is an obvious next stop if they keep going, and I've heard more dates are on the way.
  6. You will be glad you did. Nice to see the response on Mr. Finn and Crowded House. The only, only band I've ever seen that was equal to Wilco in a live venue was Crowded House.
  7. Just released dates, new album on the way! 8. Ok, I give up this topic PJ over there on my left is in the dark as well....
  9. or my 15 mintues for now perhaps. I liked that scary tweedy comment after you posted it, but then someone actually renamed the jpeg that, which gave me the 'scary renamer' vibe. Anyway, the real bottom line here is: are you all better off without photos like 'scary tweedy' or not? It seems we are headed into rough seas for awhile in that regard, and I for one am taking my camera 'out of the picture' (pardon me, I think that's a Son Volt song)
  10. I should probably take his comment as a compliment, but I was so bummed to discover this thread today, my reaction was dismay. I probably shouldn't take it so seriously, eh?. Anyway, I love that 'scary Tweedy' photo, and in thinking about it, if Jeff didn't want me to get a photo like that, why was he looking right at me (or, he was totally pissed off that I was taking the picture perhaps? - I guess we'll never know). Anyway, my karma is good on this one, I actually sent a high quality print of it by request halfway around the world because of how nicely I was asked by a fellow via chicagoa
  11. Really? Tell me more (via PM if you'd like)
  12. Unfortunately, I take it you are serious. As the photographer of the 'scary Tweedy' as someone has coined this photo, I'm not thrilled to take any portion of credit for this change, but I wondered about it. I regret posting my photos now. I took the Victoria and Portland photos without a flash or any other lights or distractions on, LCD screen off, auto focus assist off, and was unobtrusive to others. I have previously posted concert photos, including some that are linked to Wilcobase. I want to note that I only took them during a couple of songs. I don't sell them, even though I was asked, an
  13. The photo with Pete Seeger is beyond cool....
  14. Gun, Screen Door, Acuff-Rose - some nice Uncle Tupelo picks. I'd love to see Gun live sometime. How does Jeff do Spiders as an acoustic song? I've seen one of his solo acoustic shows, and am amazed at what he can pull off, but Spiders is hard to imagine.
  15. Someone worked their magic with a camera for Wilco in Seattle - just saw these posted on the official site: http://www.wilcoweb.com/photos/
  16. Well now we have our Olympic soap opera in gear.....not quite Nancy Kerrigan and Tonya Harding, but the media will take what they can get: http://sports.yahoo....ularity?urn=oly,223895 I'm sure we'll hear more of this in the next few days.
  17. Auref, Based on the tour schedule, it looks like May 26th or 27th were just made for playing in France. It's right between Denmark and Spain - perfect.... I have officially signed your petition, and will toast to your luck with a good Rhone wine later on in the evening. No Dordogne foie gras here though I'm afraid....
  18. That was a great, twangy setlist that's for sure. Reservations even. Wow!
  19. No, not at all as long as it's not through the whole show, and that's my point. He was highly appreciative of the Portland crowd for figuring out when to stand, and when not to in a 'formal' theater (official Olympic translation: theatre) setting. He really seemed to like that people did both. you can be their leader and orchestrate the whole thing~!
  20. Makes me nostalgic for my years of living there. gawd, I love that town..... you guys rock!
  21. If only life were so simple...... ......sit and stand, depending on the song, that's my (and apparently Jeff Tweedy's) advice. (yes I'm repeating myself from way back in the early part of this thread) it will all work out in the end, I expect.
  22. Live the only other bands I've seen in the last few years that are on the same plane are: Crowded House Robyn Hitchcock and the Venus 3 Eels (an evasive answer I suppose) In the historical record, Wilco hasn't topped the Beatles, the Kinks, or Beethoven for me. Not yet anyway.
  23. Welcome BoulderEagle. Tell your son from someone who had the pleasure of going to the UW that he'll love it there. (Good rock climbing and/or hiking at Devil's Lake if he gets homesick for Boulder sometimes as well) I missed this webcast last night, but it'd be great if it gets posted somewhere....
