hey, you're the one claiming your opinion to be the all-knowing undenying truth, not us
-
not to mention that the last Black Keys record, while good, is easily their weakest album to date
-
only seen them once in 2003 (missed their last show here), but they're fantastic live
-
ehhhhh at least the drums sound decent on this one. the drums sounded so flat and shitty on the first one.
-
it's better than the first one... but still just barely above average imo
-
i don't think his songwriting has gone downhill at all, just The White Stripes albums for me give me the Raconteurs album (even though it could have been a lot better) over the last 2 Stripes records anyday. then again, i've been a Brendan Benson fanboy long before i heard of The White Stripes really hope I like this new one though... from the descriptions really hard to say, but at least my expectations are pretty low
-
oof, not for me... sorry... to me it screamed "hey, the label wants a single, so let's throw that song on the album to appease them" i hated Jack's voice on it (his voice actually annoys me fairly often when it gets all high and whiney) not to mention the lyrics are just abysmal
-
Blue Orchid is awful sorry
-
De Stijl > White Blood Cells >>> Self-Titled >>>>> Elephant >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Get Behind Me Satan really would love for this album to be great, but the trend hasn't been to good for me the only 2 that i consider great are De Stijl & WBC
-
you can buy the NME here in the US too at any decent newstand
-
yep... pretty much Dosh doesn't write his stuff on guitar
-
yeah but SO many 80's records sound dated... hard to pick on GNR for that too even if i may not listen to it much anymore, it's still no less of a classic album today
-
The Lips bust out "Pompeii" for the first time
solace replied to Orkie's topic in Someone Else's Song
yeah, Stephen hasn't played drums live with the Lips in a number of years unfortunately -
hey now... i actually got sent a physical promo in the mail for this one
-
because compared to the 3 albums that came before it, it wasn't all that great... sure there's a few great songs on the album, but on the whole, notsomuch. MCIS was the start of their incredible descent.
-
exactly... i don't think he's touched the first self-titled or Poses yet for me... not that Want One, Want Two, or this new one are bad by ANY means, they're quite awesome, but still...
-
best thing ever? not exactly... better than Want One & Want Two (not that the latter would be that tough) most likely? yep
-
ah, haven't looked at the liner notes yet, thanks
-
see my edit, Zep were eligible a year prior to Sabbath, so even IF it hadn't taken Sabbath so long, they did get inducted in the right order...
-
uhm.... Led Zep getting in before Sabbath is accurate... Zep put out I & II (both in 1969) before Sabbath put out their first record (1970) not to mention that Zep are just a way way bigger band and probably more deserving... now as far as influence... that's a bit closer
-
yeah but his last couple records...
-
i know not everyone agrees, but Use Your Illusion I & II had some pretty killer tracks too... you can't exactly discount those
-
lovely... and certainly a better all around album than Let It Die (not to mention that she actually wrote everything for this one whereas the last was half covers), but i still prefer Let It Die for now, simply because of the uptempo & fun tracks it's certainly much more like her solo live show though

i guess i could hide some of the links for now, but i'm not going to delete anything at this point...
