Let's see how the server handles the old 2.1 version again for a week or so. I thought i'd nailed down the cause of the problem, but it was still having issues, and the only thing that's changed since then on the entire server was the upgrade to 2.2. I have all the posts from December archived, and i'll put up that URL in time, for a little while, but i'll probably take it down eventually, as it's still using the 2.2 code and might possibly cause the server to freak out, even if only a few people are browsing it. I've tried to get the Invision people to help me, but they say it's our serve

so... the Archives... due to a change in the way Invision works now, merging the two databases is no longer feasible, so unfortunately i'm going to have to discontinue the archiving procedure from here on out. i'll leave the archive up (it's only got from December '05 on back now however, while this current database has from the middle of July) i wish there was an easier option, but i've searched high and low and found nothing. i will still clean out the random thread every 2 weeks or so at my leisure however, but the rest of the sections (save for the ticket wants/extras forums), will

hmmmm... i'm not seeing any currently... (maybe the other mods nuked 'em already) we tend to get 1-3 a day it seems, but as for now, no, not really anything we can do until IPB steps up their game. most of the spam posts now are actual humans or very very complex challenge & response bots that are hard to combat. -
i'm not the biggest Jay-Z fan, but i wouldn't consider The Black Album even remotely his best...

it's definitely not as good, but worth checking out for sure it's definitely not as good, but worth checking out for sure as for Midlake, dislike the record all you guys want, but Roscoe is def one of the best songs of the year. even people i know who hate the album seem to agree. (it's not my fave song on the record however).
-
it recently overtook Midlake for my #2 on the year

me too! gonna have to pickup the deluxe version at Best Buy ($14.99) after work!

^^ that Pfork review today was awful. i got through about 1 paragraph. definitely not as good as the score they gave it either... some fairly interesting tracks, but not as good as their own works, and a lot of times there's just too much going on in a number of the songs. great artwork tho

those are their best records for the most part, but after that i'd go w/ Fireworks then Promise Promise of Love was fairly disappointing for me when it came... luckily they followed it up w/ Set Free, which is pretty f'n great (The Green Green Grass was one of my absolute fave songs of '05) and actually they haven't split per-se... they have just stopped making music together for the time being and have no plans on touring. while they have stated that they won't be touring anytime soon, they did hint that they may still continue to release albums in the near future. i think either Andrew

or just find and download the Dr. Ebbett's transfer versions

the N word wasn't the worst part of his rant, it was the lynching comment that really disturbed me most...
-
as i said, i'm hoping that the 2.2 upgrade in the next month fixes it, otherwise i'll file a but report w/ IPB. not worth doing it prior to the upgrade however.
-
still nothing i can do about it

if they didn't take themselves so seriously, i might not find it as awful i suppose i don't know too many fans who loved the first record who are into this one. curious how it's selling now.
-
i didn't recall liking Bones too much (specially the horns)
-
the single might actually be the best song on the record, and it's not very good either. Uncle Johnny = horrendous their best song is called Under The Gun. def look for it if you haven't heard it.

free speech... fine spouting racist remarks at a paying audience? different story altogether, and shouldn't be a surprise that it's gotten the press it has. and i'm not going to judge your character btnapoleon, but you would NOT get away with using the N word around me if we were friends, trust me.

i also think the new Killer's is one, of not THE worst record i've heard all year... not that i liked the first one, but it's pretty enjoyable comparatively.

i'd only heard a song or two prior, but really enjoy the title track/first single with it's totally over the top Queen intro, then w/ the pop punk main part of the song... that said, i thought there was a chance i might like the record... but it's pretty awful... along w/ the obvious Queen rips (there's one solo on the record that is stolen straight outta the Bohemian Rhapsody solo), it also reminds me of 90's Bon Jovi in spots.
