  1. no, they'll be doing Euro festivals then mostly from what i've seen. likely a bigger scale US tour in the fall. and no Detroit, 2 Toronto and 2-3 Chicago shows though
  2. Emblems first for sure, then maybe Nature of Maps or Green Fury. the last one, Several Arrows Later, was good too, i just didn't get into it nearly as much.
  3. you think so? i thought it sounded quite rough (as did last nights show) personally. didn't help that the PA absolutely blew at both places tho. and no Florida on this first US tour this spring, your closest show is Atlanta or Greensboro
  4. HAHAHA, holy shit that rumor keeps growing and growing. The Police wasn't included in the original lineup. it's fake, many acts have already dispelled it as such. The Hold Steady are playing for sure, Arcade Fire as of now are not scheduled to play it, and Pearl Jam have a gig in Poland the day before Bonnaroo
  5. very good record. bummed they're not coming to Minneapolis any time son it looks like
  6. i don't really know what to think of it so far... his previous style was just so great, in fact he'd surpassed DJ Shadow for me lately... i appreciate him trying something new though
  7. then yes, they are "the real deal" for sure
  8. it's not all great, but i'd say it's a really solid debut record imo. Nothin' No, Jacket and Murder in Michigan are def my faves as well, and those 3 tracks alone are worth checking it out
  9. ^^ saw them for free last month just before my b-day... despite them all looking about 30-50lbs heavier than the last time i saw them 6+ years ago, they still got it.
  10. they were an absolute blast live as well and i bought this shirt:
  11. the Shins are definitely charging more than they're worth at this point ($25 even)
  12. The Appleseed Cast are so great. check out Low Level Owl Volumes 1 & 2 though, those are their best records by far (and 2 of my fave records ever)
  13. i don't know if they're the "real deal", but their record was my #2 or #3 fave of 2006
  14. nice. it's been a while since i've seen them play anywhere that small here, should be a fabulous night of rock
  15. me too i agree w/ those saying he's reaching the upper end of his register on it, but not like Jeff doesn't do that often either (see Hummingbird live for one).
  16. holy shit. these are all with The Hold Steady, lucky bitches: 03-12 Tallahassee, FL - Club Downunder 03-13 Birmingham, AL - Bottletree 03-14 Memphis, TN - Hi-Tone 03-16 Indianapolis, IN - The Vogue 03-17 Columbus, OH - Newport Music Hall 03-19 Iowa City, IA - Picador 03-22 Denver, CO - Hi-Dive
  17. they've never been all that exciting of a live band unfortunately.
  18. no, you can select what song you want to hear, you just don't have anyway to know other than by listening, so it takes a while to skip to say a Zwan song....
  19. yes, but they got started in Denver in '93 and pretty much toured only around town for a long time, and far as i know called it there home until a few years ago is all, so i too am a bit surprised they're not playing there
  20. and the sad thing is, Apples In Stereo are FROM Denver
  21. there was talk of a new one last year, but haven't heard a thing since
  22. a lot of fun Varsity Theater? yay!
