  1. Hospice is awesome. it's actually just a re-release in August, the album was released earlier this year by the band (you can still get the self-released on Insound too if you're interested) the re-release is remastered but i kind of prefer the older version (the changes aren't huge however)
  2. i'm kind of surprised that Dirty Projectors are new to so many people (not saying they are to you, just in my general experience on other forums) i knew they weren't huge or anything, but have read about them a lot the past 5-6 years. it probably is their best all around record though, or very close anyway. if the whole album was as stunning as the first 2 songs, it might be my favorite record this year (i know a lot of people think Stillness is the best song tho, but i prefer David singing lead moreso w/ the girls backing)
  3. FUCK YES thank you. that would have been a terrible omission also, speaking of Omission, John Frusciante's 'Shadows Collide With People' would be on my list too
  4. Seven Swans is still my favorite i think
  5. fuck. how could i forget this? i think it was my #2 or 3 of 2002

  7. this is pretty kick ass my fears of them working with Rubin were unfounded (granted it's way more polished than anything they've done before) Beth's vocals have never sounded better either
  8. hmm... as much as i love the new Dirty Projectors record, it's about on par with Veckatimest for me. diff strokes as they say.
  9. fair enough. i guess i never really venture outside of Someone Else's Song, so...
  10. *shrug* nothing I can do about it until 3.0 goes Final, sorry i never used that feature myself
  11. don't get your hopes too high for Wilco... (not to say i don't like it a lot mind you, but there's a reason it's not listed in my top 20 on the year) as for Justin, i like him a lot but find his records lacking compared to his live show. he should just strip away a lot of the layers imo.
  12. it won't show up when YOU post in it, that kind of defeats the purpose of it (since you've read it already) now it SHOULD however show up after I post this
  13. i agree with you gusy for the most part on Yellow House... i found it pleasant but dull for the most part Veckatimest however is a completely different story altogether and tons of songs on it get stuck in my head (even if one HATES Grizzly Bear, i don't know too many people who dislike Two Weeks) Southern Point also reminds me of Fleet Foxes a lot melodically as for Panda Bear's 'Person Pitch'... it only had 7 songs? honestly, i gravitate more towards rootsier & singer/songwriter stuff than most of my friends, but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate and enjoy a lot of stuff out
  14. i think thing the biggest thing I enjoy about WAP so much is the beefed up production. have always felt their past albums, while great, suffered from pretty hollow production (ala: early Spoon albums)
  15. Mark Board As Read is now working for me after I fixed all the database issues
  16. it is very poppy, but SO SO good. album of the summer for me by far, that and maybe Passion Pit

Although these critically acclaimed artists have shared the stage before, this album marks their first recorded output as a band. The r
  18. i have my doubts that "official" web page is real, but we'll see
  19. just checking if it's working for others the 'Mark Board as Read' at the bottom of the index isn't working still either, but not a huge issue imo, as you can easily mark the whole forum as read with a few clicks of the left-hand icons on the forum index
  20. i hope he releases more stuff like it... you know he probably has HOURS of stuff along those lines too
  21. oh damn forgot about the latest Thermals... not my fave of theirs but still totally killer. that Lytle album is sweet too
