i'd say maybe the full record will be on Rock Band they're also getting their own Rock Band add-on disc of all live tracks sometime next year as well
-
it's bullshit that they haven't played Minneapolis in a year... suck it

saw her a week ago here in Mpls, really sweet show. she was backed by friends of mine, great band called Romantica, who also opened: http://www.myspace.com/romantica

oh man, remedy that ASAP

Alternative To Love grew on me quite a bit... while it's probably his weakest, for me Lapalco was a huge disappointment after such a long wait between his debut & that one, but it grew on me quite a bit as well. of the 2 songs i've heard so far, and the 4 rough demos, i think this one is going to be pretty great

his first solo record, One Mississippi from 1996 is one of my favorite power pop albums ever
-
First track off it 'Don't Wanna Talk' totally OWNS: http://spin.com/articles/exclusive-download-brendan-bensons-break-rocker 4 years is way too long...

The Dodos kick ass can't wait for their new record

Jeff's vocals on it are VERY raw... and not in a good way in this case. makes it hard for me to focus on the rest i guess. i like it more than Unlikely Japan, but i don't dig that song at all really.
-
hmm... no clue what to think of this song very very indifferent

Covering 'I Do Not Hook Up' by Kelly Clarkson: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JsVPMt0M-Fs awesome

fair enough... but it's pretty easy for me to distinguish the cream of the crop among their catalog and the ones that aren't quite as good, regardless of which exact album(s) i'd put where. EVERY band/artist has albums that, while great, might just not be quite as awesome as their best stuff. i honestly can't think of any of my favorite artists that I don't have a favorite or least favorite record of. it's not like it's some competition or anything, just my own personal preference.

not big on the tone you chose for the guitar, but besides that it's pretty sweet! nice work

you're right on the snooty part, you come off as equally pretentious in this reply.

my top 3 are all AWFULLY close: YHF (it's magic has worn off a tad since '01/02, but it's still the most enjoyable all the way through) Being There (although this has by far the most # of my all-time fave Wilco songs, YHF just flows better) Summerteeth (a close second to Being There for having so many of my faves) AGIB (funny how when it was released it seemed pretty subpar comparatively. suffers from poor flow/cohesiveness, but has 4-5 killer songs) these 3 are all fairly interchangeable depending upon mood. i can't say any single one is their "worst" really: SBS (very enjoyable/p

Pitchfork Media's reaction to the new record

honestly that's about what i'd give it myself. not usually a big fan of Matthew's writing, but not a bad review. i definitely agree that it's a very pleasant and enjoyable record, but with little fanfare/excitement either. -
fair enough. i'm just a stickler for parental responsibility i guess too, so I just wish more people would point fingers at these parents for letting their children be alone with Michael Jackson, especially after the '93 accusation, that's all. definitely didn't say it made it ok, just that they sort of enabled it to happen.

2/3's? the Jackson 5 released their first album in 1969 and Michael's first solo album came 3 years in 1972. the first lawsuit was in 1993, so by my math that's 24 years of his musical career before any of the big drama unfolded. 1993-2009 = 16 years. now i dunno about you, but in my mathematical mind, 16 years of drama out of 40 years of a musical career isn't exactly 2/3's... we'll have to agree to disagree then i guess. in my book, accepting cash to cover up ANY crime (esp. sexual abuse) makes you basically guilty by association and that you feel money can buy justice.
