  1. oh i loved Z too, but if i was to rank MMJ's catalog, it'd go: At Dawn It Still Moves Z Tennessee Fire (mostly due to the production, songwise it's up there w/ ISM) Evil Urges so saying they've gone downhill in the studio, while maybe harsh sounding, is accurate for me.
  2. i was able to switch to the full theme using my iPhone last time it ried
  3. there's 4-5 great songs on Evil Urges, but it's far and away their worst album. honestly the band has been sliding slowly downhill since At Dawn. which is unfortunate because they're still pretty amazing live
  4. yeah, i'd like for them to wash the taste of Evil Urges out of my mouth, but i figure that won't come until next summer.
  5. HOLY SHIT. best news about this reunion tour? The Jealous Sound are opening the entire thing!!!! never thought i'd see/hear from them again
  6. http://www.yimyames.com/site/ you can d/l or stream Behind That Locked Door there as well
  7. Feel free to file a bug report: http://forums.invisionpower.com/tracker/project-24-ip-board-3-0/
  8. 3.0 Final is out now too btw (they did a soft launch w/o any fanfare), so here goes nothing
  9. eh, i dunno about that. personally as someone who is on probably 15-20 different web forums, all running various versions and types of forum software, i find this new UI and layout pretty nice. *shrug* i'd imagine it's more about people not giving it a fair chance or wanting to learn something new. the thing is, i can't just stay at an earlier version/layout unless you want to deal with ridiculous amounts of spam and such.
  10. top 50 probably for me as well, true
  11. beat me to it can't wait! they're so good live
  12. haha, nah, was just saying that I have a hard time putting an album that's barely a year old on my list of favorite records of the last 10 years is all, those things usually take some time to to simmer for me.
  13. IE5???? sorry, but you're just asking for viruses/malware by running a browser that was last updated 9 years ago
  14. it's died down a little bit since the news of Jay's death (which caused the server overloads), but there's about the same number of people viewing the board (you're looking at the # of people just browsing this forum below, the full number of people viewing the board is only on the index page, which currently stands at 48 people online)
  15. as much as i do love Blitzen Trapper's 'Furr' and it was my fave album last year, it's too early for me to put it on my list for best of the decade, i don't think it will hold up quite as well after a few years (i rarely listen to now as is)
  16. quite possible: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wr0-9MHYTuQ make special note of: the synchronized double over the head guitar move at :59the singer running in place at 1:36and then of course, the ultimate payoff... the euro-dance breakdown at 2:46 seriously, if this isn't the worst band/video of all time, it's gotta be a contender at least.
  17. it's a great record yes, but probably not the best place to start with Dino Jr. for that i'd say Green Mind, You're Living All Over Me, Bug, or Where You Been would be better starting points. i do love Farm, but still prefer the last one, Beyond
  18. i'm guessing music around 6-6:30 ending by 10:30 I'm going to head over to Frank Black @ the Triple Rock right after the Jayhawks set ends on Friday, and then on Saturday to the Entry for Dexateens right after The Hold Steady
  19. DEFINITELY get Make Out and Make Good Neighbords. i dig Life Like, but it's towards the bottom of their catalog for me. they're so much fun live, i
  20. gotcha. it's certainly an album i would be hesitant to recommend to just ANYONE, no question there. much of Dirty Projectors music is essentially chamber music at it's core, but it's got plenty of pop sensibilities to make it accessible to a fairly wide range audience too. i adore that Pains record so much... it's like everything that was great about early 90's brit rock/pop mixed with some Sonic Youth/noise rock. my only complaint is i wish the production was louder/more crisp, it took me a bit to get into the album as a result.
  21. i think you can get the vinyl from here shipped now? http://www.sonicunyonstore.com/product_info.php?osCsid=lifr4qaih6o3o23m25np6kt4k3&products_id=2392 it's a great record for sure. going to see them live next month
  22. guess i haven't seen the ABC coverage thing (is that just the Pitchfork/ABC News web special type deal that Bon Iver was on a year or so ago?). I just meant that David Longstreth/Dirty Projectors have always gotten pretty great reviews and critical acclaim from the stuff i've read/seen in the past. and if you look, every past Dirty Projectors album minus one EP has gotten between 8.1-8.5 on Pitchfork too: http://pitchfork.com...rty-projectors/ David's music isn't for everyone, i'll definitely agree with that, but he's one of the more inventive songwriters around right now (not surprised
  23. damn! i was at Do Division that day for Viva Voce & Handsome Furs too, awesome
