it is on everyone who d/l the mp3s prior to the stream's end. i haven't listened to the stream to compare myself. should be getting a promo copy next week, if/when i do i'll compare
-
James Murphy stole it:
-
oh, no in that case no. i read your reply as the digital audio extractor tool used, would help if i read his reply all the way through
-
actually it's quite common with certain CD extracting tools and/or poor CD rom drives to introduce digital chatter (which often sounds like static or skipping). in this case it sounds like it's on the original source to me, so we'll see
-
very good record. check out their 2nd one 'Underachievers Try Harder', even better imo.
-
his vocals & rapping make it nearly unlistenable for me at times. if you wanna hear a great hip hop record, P.O.S.'s latest 'Never Better' is the best i've heard all year, followed closely by DOOM
-
true, but it wasn't even announced until what 2 months before it came out? if that.
-
6 weeks is not early... 3-4 months is early. YHF "leaked" almost a year early (i realize that was a special case) as for Eminem... i like him but the new album is mostly awful. he's become a caricature of himself. the new Green Day is basically an American Idiot rehash musically too. we get it Billy Joe, you want to be Queen.
-
not sure if it's the same noise, but the ones around the 2:34 mark are likely Glenn's doing (cymbal scrapes, whisk, etc.)
-
if it wasn't on BBN i'd maybe buy they "missed it", but that song is meant to be noisy. there's a lot of other things besides that lil blip going on if you listen w/ headphones
-
no way they "missed it"
-
when I saw Nels solo 2 summers ago he played his guitar with his cell phone making noise through the pickups... least i think it was his cell phone, maybe it was a keychain garage door opener? now i'm doubting myself
-
how far is "foreseeable"
-
one of the external LaCie's hooked up to the Mac Pro says "LP 07 Backup"
-
i do like that they use LaCie external drives just like i do just got a 1.5TB d2 Quadra yesterday (there's some 500gb versions of that on the shelf)
-
by quite a bit actually
-
we'll see, Wilco has never been exactly a band with a stable lineup but seems like Jeff is finally pretty happy with the current lineup. that said, if it's the lineup changes that is necessary to keep Wilco on their toes, then whatever happens is fine by me
-
i don't hate Country, but if i had to pick a least fave at this point, it'd be that, Deeper Down, or I'll Fight. i like all 3 tho
-
right... they haven't been on a downward slide since YHF (esp since this new one is better than SBS, and I may end up liking it more than AGIB after all is said and done), just up and down. i see it as them finding their groove... then the lineup will change again after the tours for this album, and they'll start the cycle over again
-
i'm of the mind that Wilco's peak was from '96-02, but they still have a lot of great things to offer us these days if people want to say they've been coasting these last 2-3 albums, that's fine, but they're coasting in a pretty high gear compared to a lot of bands.
-
that's not the Loft, that's R. Kelly's studio... where he was "Trapped In The Closet"
-
the issue is that production is SUCH a personal thing... you can't point to one specific record or producer and say with any sort of factual backing that it is "good production" some people love glossy production, some love rough around the edges, some love lo-fi. there's good and band examples of both, and we will all likely disagree on many of those examples.
-
i guarantee you'd ruin it
-
oh, i didn't mean automatically, but production didn't become nearly as big of part of the overall record process until around that time (Revolver, Pet Sounds, etc., so i guess i meant '65-66) there's plenty of stuff from the 50's & early 60's with great production, no question (now prior to 1950 however...)
-
sometimes for sure they do, but more often than not they don't get that involved. it's a double-edged sword imo, overbearing producers vs. producers who don't ask enough of bands. and a lot of times the engineer is the same person as the producer, so there's also that. oh man... if you truly believe this i feel really really sorry for you and I don't think i can continue arguing at this point. a TRULY great song needs no production at all and stands on its own played by a person on just an acoustic guitar or piano live in front of people.
