yeah, that PR doesn't really clarify that much at all, but i'd imagine that's accurate. although they'd probably sell more if they offered up both.
-
i think it's better than Some Cities, but not by a wide margin or anything. def doesn't touch the first two for me. first 6 songs are incredible then it tapers off a bit. still a very strong record, even if not totally worth the extended wait.
-
uhm, they're being released separately then too... read the first paragraph: For a limited period, each CD will also be embedded with a brief documentary film about the album. On the same date, two new Beatles boxed CD collections will also be released. although it doesn't specify if you'll be able to buy both the Mono & Stereo versions separately i suppose.
-
i'll def buy the Stereo one... the Mono one i'll have to hear first before I buy. of the Ebbetts versions, there's only 2 mono ones i listen to as much or more than their stereo counterparts.

i'd imagine everyone did

done and done. that was certainly weird. wonder if it's an exploit or just a very sophisticated script

preaching to the choir my friend

it's not BAD, but considering all parties involved I expected it to be insanely great, which it's not

he played there last summer as well and i heard they were pretty amazing shows http://juliannvachon.wordpress.com/2008/07...ve-in-cape-cod/

i just think with the whole major label thing he's gonna become a big liability and they're good of a band to have to put up with drama. we'll see, but he's only gotten worse the last few times i've seen them in the past 12 months
-
they need to kick out their bassist John ASAP imo. dude's been so insanely fucked up the last few times i've seen them and was barely coherent at SXSW. not like he's that great of a player that he'd be missed either imo.

Phoenix - Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix (out 5/25/09)

they were a little more subdued on SNL last night than they are in concert, but still pretty sweet. great band though, been around since '99 and I can recommend all of their records, but mostly the last 3 -

Tim's solo record is by far the best post-Jayhawks solo release by anyone in the band, no question. amazing record. word is he's hoping to have a new one out in the next year or so... *fingers crossed* -
well this is really fucking good. can't say I like it more than Marry Me (which i LOVED) based on 1.5 listens, but damn it's pretty killer.
-
this is definitely better than their debut (which i quite liked) and is VERY very Spoon-esque (not surprising considering Britt produced it)
-
you sure you're not mixing the two up? i like both, but Shara's got much more of a powerful voice vs. Becky's kind of frail/timid one. Becky's vocals on 'Lovely Night' kinda bug me, but Shara's on 'The Wanting Comes In Waves Repaid' is just amazing... almost reminds me of Ann Wilson. Shara has one of the most impressive female voices i've ever heard live honestly. first time i saw her was opening for Sufjan in 2004 and she blew me away. Jim sings backup vocals on Prelude, Margaret In Captivity, Wanting (Reprise), & Hazards 4

and for those that might like them.... Counting Crows, Matt Kearny, & Matt Nathanson are also on that bill. they're announcing more artists soon too -
