  1. Between this, I Am Trying To Break Your Heart, Sunken Treasure, and the first Wilco ACL performance, my DVR is gonna get full. My wife isn't gonna have room for her 270,000 episodes of House, ER and Greys Anatomy she has recorded. I recommend that if you get HDTV and you have DVR, you upgrade your DVR. High Def. is murder on your DVR hard drive space.
  2. Great read. After seeing Nels play live in Detroit last week I definitely have a huge amount of respect for him as a player and as a performer.
  3. Well, if all he was gonna do was play fiddle, and sing background vocals, I'm not too sure. It would be a huge waste of talent. It would be like getting Jim James, just to be a back-up singer. But if it was more of a split, like the band playing some of his songs it would be pretty sweet.
  4. Once I got on there I realized that Sonic Youth's "Goo" came out the same year as No Depression and I didn't quite know who to pick. I love both albums. In the end I went with No Depression.
  5. It really makes me wish I lived anywhere near Chicago.
  6. You know, I have never met you but I think I actually hate you at this moment. You have got to be one of the luckiest people on the green earth. By the way great article, good job on the poster, and thanks for the videos.
  7. I don't think he could pull off Nels' height, but with the magic of movies nowadays I'm sure they figure something out. William H Macy looks an awful lot like Nels' though =
  8. Dude, that is like some totalitarian, communist crap right there...
  9. I have never been a huge Dylan fan but I really liked all of the covers on the website. After reading the list of the covers I am highly impressed. I pray that the the band listed as "The Million Dollar Bashers" will make an album. On Wikipedia it lists the members as being: Sonic Youth stars Lee Ranaldo and Steve Shelley, Wilco guitarist Nels Cline, Television guitarist Tom Verlaine, Dylan bassist Tony Garnier, guitarist Smokey Hormel and keyboardist John Medeski. I don't know the who heck would sing, but any album that features Nels, Lee Ranaldo, Steve Shelley, and Tom Verlaine, would
  10. This was my first Wilco show and I am floored. A couple of notes: First, and most important- That 2nd encore kicked all shades of ass. To be able to see Red Eyed & Blue - I Got You - Casino Queen - then Outasite (Outamind) to end a show was so f***ing unbelievable it is still hard for me to comprehend. Also, never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would get to hear "Too Far Apart". Second - Nels Cline is a god. I have only seen him play a couple of single song performances on TV and the like, and when he plays like that he is somewhat reserved. He was full on rocking out last
  11. Ha, Ha, I never made the connection until you just said something. You sir. I wonder if Mr. Foley knew Mr. Young?
  12. Does anybody know if there is a recorded version of this song done by either Wilco or UT?
  13. I can't find my copy of "I Am Trying to Break Your Heart" (my kids have a horrible habit of taking movies out of the dvd player and not putting them back in the proper case). Is "Be Not So Fearful" the song that the band were warming up with before a show in the movie?
  14. I would just be happy with a live DVD for crying out loud.
  15. You know, I never put 2 and 2 together. For some reason I always thought that Brian Henneman sang on that one. See you learn something new every day.
  16. What song(s) did Jeff play bass on?
  17. GL, I hope it works out for you. I would pee myself with giddiness to be able to be able to open for Wilco. Unfortunately I have two things working against me. 1 - I'm not in a band, and 2 - My guitar playing sucks as it is. I would be so freaked out I'd probably forget how even play a barre chord.
  18. Tailspin - The Jayhawks.
  19. I was a sucker and paid 12 bucks for the fox Theater garage parking. Between 2 thirty-three dollar tickets, parking and fees I ended up paying over 100 bucks. ticketmaster is just plain evil. Ticketmaster even had a fee for the parking.
  20. I'm not sure, probably no particular place like InGlenntion mentioned. I will say this though the Nels Cline highwaters are truly PIMP
  21. Wow, I never realized that MMJ opened up for Wilco. I would give my left round thing to see that show. I might have to change my answer as I have already seen Grant Lee Phillips play when he was with Grant Lee Buffalo. They opened up for the Cranberries. I only went to see GLB. They were my favorite band at the time (I hadn't yet heard of Wilco). Also, am I the only person in the world who hasn't heard of Andrew Bird before. After I saw that he was opening up for Wilco this Wed. in Detroit I checked out some of his stuff on line and it's pretty good. He reminds me of a stripped down version of
