Saving for my dream guitar -- tempted by another
PopTodd replied to PopTodd's topic in Solid State Technology
Getting both guitars is not an option. Fear not for my credit rating. -
And where would the swing be without the rhythm section? And where is the rhythm section without the bottom end?

I am thinking the same thing. I just wanted some backup. This is the Jaguar: And this is the Tele Thinline: -
Michelle Shocked - born again, homophobic bigot?

Exactly this. Disappointed in her right now, though. -
Does anyone else sing along to the guitar part with the words: "This is the theme to Gary's show, the opening theme to Gary's show..." ? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OzcjlKCJDnU

So, I'm about 3/4 of the way towards having enough money to get my 69 Tele Thinline reissue that I've been coveting. But, then the shop has a used Mexi-built Jaguar that I played tonight. And I loved it. Lots of cool tone possibilities and much variety. Plus, it's only $400 (used, in damn-near perfect condition). Any of you have any experience with any recent-model Fender Jags from Mexico? But I'm thinking that I want to at least wait until the 69 comes in and I get to play it before pulling the trigger on either. Whaddya think?

Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival

Totally agree. But, then, SRV also strung up his Strat with 0.13s. He also had the strength to bend those telephone cables up just about 2 full steps! -
Any of you remember a band from the 90's: THE FLAVOR CHANNEL ? Currently, I am hunting down whatever recorded output of theirs that I can find. I used to love those guys and probably saw them some 15 or so times over a 4 year period. I have their one full-length, and another 4 songs that I was able to pull off of various compilations and YouTube. However, my FC holy grail remains the song "Status Offender." Any of you know it? Have it? I love you.

Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival

EC was my all-time favorite artist for a while when I was a kid. Not that big a fan, now. Nonetheless, I cannot deny the greatness of Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs. It's a straight-up classic and damn-near perfect record. -
I read A Christmas Carol and it was a revelation being inside of Scrooge's head. Completely changed the story for me... for the better and destroyed any hyper-sentimentality that the movies displayed that was such a turn-off for me. Just a great, great book. Loved it. Right after I finished it, I started reading Oliver Twist and had a hard time getting through it. Only got about 1/3 through before I put it down with every intention of finishing it; but I never picked it up again.

Hunky Dory, with Ziggy Stardust not too far behind. And I have never heard any of the Berlin trilogy (save the couple of radio songs). I really need to remedy that.

Ridiculous.

Is this a YouTube-only thing? Because I can't find it on Netflix. Or, at least YT-only for now?- 4 replies

I am dying to see her when she comes through Chicago. Hope that she will on her next spin through the US.
