  1. Yep. Umm hmmm. I thought that it was incredible, because I hadn't seen it. But it was there, all along. Incredible.
  2. Don't like to shave. Don't like having a beard. I'm screwed.
  3. Last night son and I watched: Final Destination It was pretty good. A fun little horror/thriller. It's not one of those sadistic, slasher-type flicks (which I cannot stand), but a supernatural thriller with a few bloody murders. Enjoyable for Halloween night.
  4. I didn't make this. I bought the very best chopped liver that I think exists in the world. From a place in Highland Park, IL called Shaevitz. Tons of garlic. Tons of onions. And tons of chicken fat. Oh yeah, this is NOT healthy food!
  5. Supposed to bring in "scary" food to work today for Halloween. Most folks brought in decorated cupcakes and stuff like that. I brought in chopped liver. I think that I am probably the only one to genuinely scare folks with my treat. (I love this stuff!)
  6. When you're old and lonely And the rush of life has passed The days go by too slowly And the years go by too fast... Freaking kills me.
  7. This was my intro to the band, and it remains my favorite Mag Fields album, contrary to popular opinion. "You and Me and the Moon" "With Whom to Dance?" "Why I Cry" "When You're Old and Lonely" are all among my favorite songs of theirs. So great.
  8. I almost always find street parking within a block or so of the MSI. But yeah, that south lot is a good option.

  10. Let's go back to Nick's early days with Brinsley Schwarz:
  11. The second solo in "Marquee Moon" Jeezus, how was that not yet mentioned?!?! It all starts kinda tenatively, with Verlaine sort of scratching at the open D string. And then, another couple of notes are added. The phrases get longer and are attacked with increasing vigor until it becomes ferocious. Then it all just EXPLODES! Then, it gets all quiet, as the guitar just tinkles clusters of notes that sound like chirping birds: the calm after the storm. Amazing. One must note though that credit should be given to the entire band for that outstanding buildup. The rhythm section really propels
  12. Ty Segall - Goodbye Bread Glenn Gould - Bach: The Goldberg Variations (1955)

  14. I really like Blue Lights on the Runway, but know nothing about this one. The year-end talk going on now got me thinking that, had I heard the above-mentioned album when it actually came out in '09 it would've made my "best-of" list for that year. So, anyone hear it/have this new one? I did a search and found no chatter here.
  15. Does Peter Laughner fit, or was he never known enough? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWP8tkZ4ldE&feature=related
  16. This cover made me listen to the original in a whole new way. Brought out a pathos that I never knew was there. Brilliant.
