Going to Chicago....what to do, see, stay, etc.
PopTodd replied to LouieB's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Yes, they do jump off the Willis (neé Sears) Tower. And, no, that is not a recommended thing to do when you are here -- jumping off, that is. Although, my father worked on that movie and he watched as the guy jumped off of the Tower. No, it was not CGI, but an actual real stunt man, doing an actual real stunt. And, he said that it was heartstopping. Amazing. -

Loving this.

This is a dangerously addictive site. So social, too. And a lot of fun! I've been spinning a lot of tunes with GtrPlyr. Thanks for the invite!

I don't know much of his music, but what I do know is so very cool. He seems very cool. Plus, his name is Eef. Which is cool.

I don't know if he is or has ever gone by "Julian Bull". I do know that he was in bands called: Isenho, The Mimps, and Hugo & The Red Room.

BONEMACHINE is a new blog/site that an Australian friend of mine started up. Julian is from Melbourne, and he recruited me (from Chicago) and our friend Steve (from Birmingham, UK) to contribute songs that we like that we want to share with our friends and enemies. They are all YouTube links, so there is nothing illegal or unsavory about this place. From the site: Also, there is no money involved. We get nothing out of it and put everything into it, which is why I am telling you all about it. Because I like to learn about and share music that I love. (Come to think of it, that's why I'm h

Just got my invite. I'm filling my playlist now. Let's see how this goes!

Yeah, so I admit, I checked into this for the infamous non-simulated sex scenes. But, when it comes down to it, overall, this was a pretty boring movie and I did not get all the way through it. Not because it was slow and boring (which it kinda was), but because it was painful -- emotionally. Might be rewarding for those of you who can handle having your old wounds re-opened. But, if you are just looking for cheap thrills, cruise the internet instead.

Those were the buildings that are on the cover of YHF -- Marina Towers. They're right next to the Chicago House of Blues., so if you are going to see a show there... well, they're private residences, so you can't really check them out. But you can get close. An odd thing about the condos in Marina Towers: they are all wedge-shaped. They get narrower, as you get closer to the center of the building. I think that I would get clausterphobic, personally. But, for living in an iconic building, most folks don't really care. -
Toby: did you ever actually see BS? If so, count me as super jealous. I love that band.

So fucking jealous.

Just yanking your chain, newbie! That, and I have no idea of the answer to your question.

I've only listened to it once so far. That said, it's not bad. I think that I prefer Melted, though. The new one is a bit more mellow; doesn't have the same sort of insanity pervading that made the last one so much fun. Still, that said, it's worth checking out if you are already a fan. I'll be curious to get your take on it, too.
