Just got the bug to watch a few highlights of Jordan from the championship years here. And you know what? Not that it needs to be said, but nobody, and I mean NOBODY can hold a candle to the guy. No matter what you think of him as a person, as a basketball player, the guy was freaking untouchable. And he probably will be for many years to come. That is a once-in-a-lifetime talent. I'm just glad that A) I got to see him; and he played for my team.

I am going on Thursday night and, while I am not expecting it to happen, I really would like to see k.d. give Joe Pisapia a little solo spotlight. Most of you have seen me raving about his 2002 album Daydreams on here. And now, Joe is a member of k.d.'s band (and he produced the new album). So... did she let him have a song or two? And, aside from that, how did the band sound live? Because k.d. is a helluva performer. (I've seen her once before.)

Listening to Nova Mob's The Last Days of Pompeii for the first time right now. Loving it. I always considered myself to be a bit more of a Bob person, when it came down to the Hüsker arguement. I don't know how many of you will get to Cicero. I don't imagine that most of you want much to go to Cicero, there's not much there. And it can get a bit sketchy. After searching for years for a Mexican place near me that serves huitlacoches (corn mushrooms), I finally found one: Los Chilaquiles in Cicero. I used to have one of these, but with a blue, metal-flake finish. Even the (D'Armond) pickups were a kind of sparkly blue: Sold it for $100 when I was unemployed back in 1997. Thing played like shit and wouldn't stay in tune anyway. Still, it looked hot, and those were pretty great pickups. The guy that I sold it to took it apart and used the pickups in a baritone guitar that he was building.
