My favorite SFA album is Radiator. But this is my favorite song of theirs: When I saw them live for the first time, the entire room became a single, undulating mass of humanity when they hit the chorus. A transcendental moment, if there ever was one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5APBfWZFD84 Yeah, kinda how it looks in the video. (Only we were in the much smaller Lounge Ax -- shoulder to shoulder.)

The wife and I both love Haverchuck. Best character on the show. Most-likeable, too.

Oh shit! They really don't get much more perfect than this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLdJQFTnZfA And the video is a classic, too.

(That last one is Prince's "Black Album".)

Sorry, but if we're doing Material Issue, this is the song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JhIBh_L9RXk

Only one episode left of Freaks and Geeks before my wife and I have gotten through the entire (single-season) run of the series. She'll probably be so bummed that she'll cry. I'll be bummed too. Oh, and something cute: she ALWAYS laughs out loud when Haverchuck (Martin Starr) rolls his eyes after he takes his picture. Always. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IopHL3auzNQ

I have come across some sequencing/segues that work surprisingly, amazingly well! A perfect case in point: Brian Wilson - "Roll Plymouth Rock" (from SMiLE) --------->>> Iron Maiden - "Wrathchild" (from Killers) The "oooohhhh" outro of the Brian Wilson song breaks into the galloping bass intro of the Iron Maiden song like it was composed that way. If you have access to both songs, rip 'em to your iTunes and play them back-to-back. It's amazing. Are there any unexpected perfections like this that you have come across via the "Shuffle" function of the mp3 era?

I love the Hoodoo Gurus!

I've heard that one before, GtrPlyr! Who is that? There is some definite Minutemen influence there. And (this is fun), here is another one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ww3c_DdDbZ0

Okay, so not power pop... nor any sort of North American pop. But damn, it it catchy! Even if you don't speak Portugese (as I don't), you'll probably be singing along before long: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8vYTqqKwRw&feature=&p=F1E4830EC298612E&index=0&playnext=1 Wish there were a better mix of this on YouTube, but I think this expresses the idea well enough. And, yeah, I would call this a perfect song. And a pop song.

That whole La's album is one giant perfect pop song! How about this one? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNKSs1J38EA Seems kinda kooky that it wasn't even on the first page.
-
Nope, not just power pop, but POP. Good pick!
