  1. Exactly. But I think that one has a greater appreciation for the band, when you can see where they came from. I love UT, but Jeff has changed his approach as a songwriter and musician so much since those days.
  2. Start with 2 Uncle Tupelo albums: No Depression (their first) and Anodyne (their last), if you wanna go real old school. That way you can kinda see how Jeff has grown as a songwriter, coming out of something more solidly country. (Although Jay was always more of the traditionalist in that band, still...)
  3. NP: Anthrax - "Ball of Confusion" (Temptations cover) This is just so... right!

  5. You have posted this before, and I liked it then, too. I love that guitar hook. There are a couple of (poor) videos of my playing solo/acoustic up at YouTube. But, if you want a good (professional) quality video of me playing with the original lineup of the band... drop me a PM.
  6. So yeah, I changed the topic of this thread to reflect the fact that I have another show coming up on Sat. 11/6. I go on EARLY, though... at 7:00. More info and RSVP here.
  7. Small Craft on a Milk Sea is slated for a Nov. 2 release. I did a search here and found nothing. But I found a few things online. Sounds like a purely electronic release. And, there are some streaming samples at Eno's own website: http://brian-eno.net/ Looking forward to this one. 8. and... Falstaff - Falstaff (for which I cannot find an image)
  9. I listened to this today and felt that I needed to post it here. So ridiculously bombastic, it would make Wagner blush. But I love the drama. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AP_CSQgBPpQ
  10. Chicago, IL: Green http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BPGy02xI28c
  11. Jackass has made me want to let the world know where this song really came from. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PAm66dLAcjk&feature=related I love the Minutemen. Rest in peace, D.
  12. Nevermind. They're from Melbourne. Still... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Fv1r16kIqE
  13. Isn't that where Blue Ruin is from? Or are they more Central? (My knowledge of Aussie geography is nil.)
  14. Agree with cryptique with both of his assessments of those Pixies assessments.
  15. Likewise, in the Chicago area – Vintage Vinyl on Davis St, in Evanston is a mecca for vinyl collectors, particularly those folks interested in BritPop and old British psych. Some really amazing stuff here. But, until you become a recognized face, do not expect any sort of warm welcome from the owner, Steve. He is a pretty good guy, but very cold to those newcomers to his store. Also, the prices can get ridiculous, but it may be worth it, if you can find something there that you have never seen before, but desperately want (a regular happening).
  16. I've heard good things about this one. Anyone here see it?
  17. At first I thought it was a D6 (my favorite chord -- so pretty). But upon closer inspection, you are correct. It is, in fact, a B minor.
  18. No. I can actually whistle pretty well. But, no.
  19. No video yet, but someone was taking pictures: The only video of my performances that are publicly available are performances that I am not entirely proud of. However... PM me for TV footage of me with full band from several years ago.
