  1. It'll be coming out sometime in February on Spade Kitty Records. Waiting until it's available at all electronic merchants, both as DL and physically, before calling for the "official" date.
  2. 2 years in the making (on and off). Some of the trials and tribulations can be read about HERE. This is a really good fucking record that I am really proud of. Because, despite bringing in a variety of collaborators, it's not a band: It's pretty much ALL ME. I brought in WHO I wanted to, WHEN I wanted them in; to do THEIR PART, and that was it. When I release it, I hope that you all do at least listen. If you don't like it, that's okay. I can live with that, because I know that I did what I did, how I wanted to do it. No regrets. You just don't like it. But I think that a lot of you will
  3. Joss has it nailed on the head. The majority of that "Best Of" (compiled by David Byrne) came from that album. That is his masterpiece; although most of the rest of his stuff is completely worthwhile. Listen to Joss, and DL that album NOW!!! And he also just released one more new album in his "Estuando" series last yeara: Estuando A Bossa Also excellent.
  4. Pere Ubu - The Modern Dance Smokey Robinson & The Miracles - Ultimate Collection Green - The Planets The Wolfgang Press - Queer
  5. THIS is the one that I started with. But then, there are also a number of others that I can recommend as well: THIS ONE is in my top 5 of the decade. The guy is in his 70's and still freaking people out. Like the musician version of Salvador Dali. (Both of those are at Amazon.)
  6. I just bought this off of eBay! So damn excited! Here's the site for the movie: http://www.fabricandotomze.com.br/ :rawk :rawk :rawk :rawk Will report back later!!!
  7. Uncle Tupelo - March 16-20, 1992 The Vaselines - The Way Of the Vaselines T. Rex - The Slider The Format - Dog Problems Them Crooked Vultures - Them Crooked Vultures
  8. I thought of another that should be covered, as long as you resurrected my old thread here: "Let Her Dance With Him" by Bobby Fuller (actually done by Marshall Crenshaw. Los Super Seven, and a few others, I see, upon further research) but also: "A New Shade Of Blue" by Bobby Fuller or, basically anything by Bobby Fuller.
  9. A PIECE OF INFORMATION FOR VCers WHO HAVE YET TO START A PAGE: The site has just implemented a new policy for new bands joining the site. Before becoming active and being able to be added to stations (like my VC station), the management has to review the music and determine whether or not it is of high enough quality to stay on their site. It's an effort they are making to make sure that they maintain their reputation as a "quality" indie site (and also to save bandwidth, I presume). Please still let me know when you start a new page, and I'll keep checking back to see when you are approved, s
  10. Mike Doughty - Half Smofe: Live in Minneapolis The Move - The Best of The Move Jim Ford - Point of No Return Jason Isbell - Sirens of the Ditch and... Hop On Pop - Chicken On a Bicycle (final masters)
  11. I enjoyed it a lot. Saw it today. And, as always, Anderson placed a lot of GREAT songs (mostly semi-obscure) into the soundtrack; a music geek's delight! I especially enjoyed the Bobby Fuller song over the end credits. Nice.
  12. Thanks for joining in! I added "My Worst Enemy". Nice tune. Also a note: There is no rhyme nor reason as to the order in which the songs are listed at the station. So, to keep any notions and perceptions of favortism at bay, I will be randomizing the playlist every week or two, just to mix it up.
  13. Just went back and read a little more. And felt compelled to come back here and bump this thread. Mixerman. Yes.
  14. Beloved: a MOJO collection of classic British Indie rock Hoodoo Gurus - Masch Chau The Forty-Fives - High Life, High Volume Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears - Tell 'Em What Your Name Is
  15. I'm not a fan of beers that are hopped to high heaven. Not a big IPA fan, at all. I prefer a better balanced flavor. I love the English, Irish, and Scottish styles. And, I've also just started getting into the Trappist ales. So yummy! My favorite right now: But I just discovered a Michigan brew that may challenge the Abt 12 for #1 in my world. Or, as more of an "everyday" beer; it's a lot lighter than the Bernardus and goes down so smoothly. Delicious. I also love the Capital Tripelbok. And, of course, Guinness Extra Stout. (Kinda the Beatles of beer; doesn't really even need to be men
  16. Grant Hart - Good News For Modern Man and Gilberto Gil - O Sol de Oslo
  17. The Wonder Stuff - Never Loved Elvis © - © Los Lobos - La Pistola y El Corazón Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
  18. I think that the new single is the best thing that they've done in a long time.
  19. What browser are you using? That could have something to do with it. I'm not a tech guy at all, but I've heard that there are certain web browsers (don't remember which ones) that have issues with it. If you want to know any fixes - if there are any - IAC has a fairly responsive support staff.
