Just made me think back to the first-ever Conan show. And his first-ever musical guest was Jonathan Richman. Made me so happy. But this thread is about Letterman, so… back to it! And for the record, while I like Foo Fighters, I don't love them. Underwhelming for me, too. But yeah, if they're Dave's favorite, that's all that matters tonight, I guess.

I did not forget it and I do not count it. But here is a good one: Produced by Damon Albarn. While it has that Gorillaz vibe, it's still undeniably a Bobby Womack album. A helluva swan song.

I'm guessing that Oprah will make an appearance tonight.

Stevie Ray Vaughan blew away Eric Clapton Uncle Tupelo outshone ("blew away" is a bit strong here) fIREHOSE Pearl Jam blew away Red Hot Chili Peppers I know that there are others, but I am having a hard time thinking of them. There are lots of shows where the opener measured up to the headliner, but maybe not blew them away.

Thought about it but… no. Not on my list.
