  1. Best highlights ever. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UvEobeNfGcc
  2. What news outlets are using the T word? I just read everything I could about this tragedy on cnn.com, and the word wasn't used once.
  3. Pogues - Just Look Them in the Eye and Say Pogue Mahone. 5 disc box set - 3/4s of which was previously unreleased.
  4. Though the end price of $180 is a deal - it's too bad you had to waste the coupon on it, because $300 is way overpriced. That's about $23 per album in the box.
  5. Señor Wences. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5AaIDmiFXmo S'OK? S'alright.
  6. As awful as that book was - I was able to complete it. I can't say the same for Angels & Demons. Man that was REALLY awful. I didn't last very long with that one.
  7. The joke (at least in the first two lines) is not only in the unlikelihood that a black dude would find Dunham entertaining, but that even Dunham is acknowledging that his audience is racist (and possibly dangerous?) As for the last line? What we're missing to make the picture complete is what Dunham's reactions are - because a ventriloquist's act is never solely about the puppet. Otherwise he'd just be a puppeteer. A ventriloquist's act relies on the give and take between the ventriloquist and the dummy. Again - I don't think Dunham is funny, and I don't want to come across as defending h
  8. OK - here's what I don't understand... Personally, I don't find him funny. Therefore I don't spend money on any of his products. The people who DO spend money on him are the type that GON typically belittles for their backwards values and voting patterns, yet he's incredulous that Dunham is successful? GON, are you really that surprised? Mining the LCD for their ducats is hardly a new concept. It's an exploitable market, and he's delivering a product in demand. I don't know enough (nor am willing to do the footwork) about his routine to cast it as racist as not, but it seems suspect. I a
  9. I had access to a friend's mono version. Assuming that the artwork is the same, you get the CD sleeve, designed by the fool, and a mini cutout page, with the stripes, mustache, etc. The cardboard CD gatefold is the same as the album.
  10. Is your issue that he doesn't tell jokes, or is it that his core audience is Branson MO?
  11. Cot dammit do the Lions suck. I figured they'd win against the Rams, and one more at home against the Browns to go 3-13, which should have been good enough to get out of the top 5 for picks. If they end up with another top 3 pick, it's going to kill their cap. Is there any other sport where a team doesn't want the top pick in the draft?
  12. Well, being that I don't know any of you personally, "seeming cool" to you isn't high on my priorities.
  13. 1. Raging Bull 2. Taxi Driver 3. Goodfellas 4. Last Temptation of Christ 5. Mean Streets 6. Aviator 7. Last Waltz 8. King of Comedy 9. Casino 10. After Hours 11. No Direction Home Hell, I might even rate Age of Innocence over The Departed.
  14. The Departed isn't even in Scorsese's Top 10, unless you're into hearing Gimme Shelter for the 3rd time.
  15. The original is better, yes, but Leonardo has talent. There's not too many American actors in his age-group that are better.

  17. Anyone know the actual content of the Larry Johnson tweets that got him in high water?
  18. Things Ain't Like They Used to Be - Black Keys - duet between Dan Auerbach and Jessica Lea Mayfield.
  19. Meaning that I think that within the whole Beatles' catalogue of Paul-penned tunes, the White Album isn't his best. But yes - those are my two favorites of his on the White Album. I think John really carries the White Album, whereas Paul carries Abbey Road, even with Maxwell's Silver Hammer. I tend to agree with John's assessment of a lot of Paul's tunes: too much "granny shit"
  20. For as much as I think that Paul's contributions to the White Album are subpar (Martha My Dear and Blackbird notwithstanding), his drum fills towards the end of Dear Prudence are absolutely killer.
  21. Does Fairytale of New York count as a duet between Shane Macgowan and Kirsty MacColl? These lyrics are some of my favorites of all time: Shane: I could've been someone. Kirsty: Well so could anyone. You took my dreams from me when I first found you. Shane: I kept them with me, babe. I put them with my own. Can't make it out alone. I built my dreams around you.
