  1. I too was at that epic 83 show and did both the Hartford and Worcester runs GRATE shows
  2. 4/22/09 wilkes-barre, pa I: Jam > Mr. Charlie, Stagger Lee, Liberty, Candyman, Me and My Uncle, Built to Last, Tennessee Jed, Dire Wolf II: Golden Road to Unlimited Devotion > Revolution, Weather Report Suite Prelude/Part 1 > Aiko Aiko > Drums > Caution > Jam > So Many Roads > In the Midnight Hour E: Box of Rain
  3. better than come together and truthfully, bobs voice has gotten much weaker in the last two years he talks verses nowadays 4/19 is really good and warren sounds a lot better than I expected. Its nice to hear fire with out Mickey rapping
  4. the DVD was 12/31/78, and the dead had previously broadcast over PBS
  5. that was quick when is the public onsale?
  6. It depends on which "era" you like I love the View from the vault iv because it captures the time when I went to a ton of shows-only complaint is that the vid is made from the diamond vision feed and they include the psychedelic effects the closing of winterland is fantastic as is dead ahead (acoustic sets from Radio city)-only complaint-not a complete show, but excerpts from the week long run
  7. Only one date confirmed Outside lands fest in SF Aug. 28-30 ACL is a very strong rumor as is Philly in the fall. But nothing confirmed yet.
  8. different strokes... I find man of the hour, all or none, and many others to be just as moving. Ive seen Tweedy completely stop and then say aw shucks I didn't want to play that song anyway. That is not really the gauge for me, its how good the music sounds with only one person on stage, fuck ups notwithstanding.
  9. well they are absolutely comparable Jeff blows the lines as well Yes its different, but seeing EV rip "far behind" or an acoustic lukin is as good as any of the tweedy solo stuff. Perhaps not as technically masterful, but musically outstanding just the same. If that makes sense.
  10. yes the tickets are expensive but Ed Vedd in a small venue is not to be missed IMHO the solo shows are fantastic
  11. 4/19/09 I: Here Comes Sunshine, Good Morning Little Schoolgirl, Alligator, Deal, Hell in a Bucket, Cream Puff War > Good Lovin II: Scarlet Begonias > Fire on the Mountain > Drums > Space > Satisfaction > Born Cross-Eyed > Slipknot! > Let It Grow > Uncle John's Band > The Wheel > Turn On Your Lovelight E: Samson and Delilah looks like the best sets of the tour by all accounts the band is rocking, but the vocal are weak looking forward to MSG
  12. yes plus philly doesnt really have an outdoor venue other than the festival pier now where is that NYC show?
  13. got my tix for Philly 6/12 cant wait EV solos shows are great and well worth the price
  14. I did the Hartford shows in 4/82, my first run great shows indeed! My take on the current tour (about to start) is that they sound pretty good musically, but the vocals leave a LOT to be desired
  15. I guess, if you find correctional facilities and dilapidated housing charming. the drive is nice, and main street is trying, but its got a ways to go I felt like I was in a David lynch movie the moment we got off the highway -the whole thing was just surreal.
  16. solid show but short I really wish those kids had started at 7 and jeff a bit earlier I understand it was a benefit but for that price, we should have 90 minutes of tweedy Great main set but I felt we got shorted on the encores oh well you pay your money and take your chances, and it was still great to hear tweedy solo And I wont be heading back to beacon any time soon not the prettiest of towns, depressing actually
  17. thanks for the link man sony is really hyping this up
  18. wow still lots of tickets left I am surprised must be the price, or people are hoping there will be an NYC show
  19. thanks I am encouraged by the size of the room and the presence of the soundboard. Thanks for the link!
