  1. Even Bill Berry played with REM at their induction -- and he had an aneurysm on stage for crissakes. I'm disappointed that PG won't be making an appearance.
  2. The Rael has an "encounter" with some questionable sea creatures and had to catrate himself to not turn inot the big wart guys.. Thinking Peter Gabriel had some issues, but I do like Counting Out Time, Carpet Crawlers, etc...
  3. In my own humbel opinion, So. Central Rain is an amazingly beautuful song, and a little underrated in REM's canon, if you ask me. It's my all time favorite song -- from Peter Buck's opening guitar chords to the Stipe's wail at the end, and everything in between -- it's pure perfection. Accelerate is a great, fun, fast album -- Horse to Water, Accelerate, et all-- great songs. I have to concur with the under rated, but would add Me in Honey, I'll Take the Rain, Disappear, King of Birds, & the 11th Untitled Song from Green. Also, Good Advices, Sweetness Follows, did anyone mention Walk
  4. I was very anti-Led Zeppelin in high school -- mainly cos everyone liked them and I had to be different. Also, at the time the only songs you heard were Stairway to Heaven, Dazed & Confused. But now I think Kashmir is such a great song.
  5. All these REM haters....I feel so alone, but I will keep my little REM fire going for all eternity. (And I like Reveal more than Automatic and Out of Time -- how's that for blasphemy). Especially Peter Buck -- for a guy in his 50s, he just is so rocking hot. For me, it's a very tight race for my guitar hero supremacy between PB and JT -- I now these guys are not on par with the greats, but screw that, I love em.
  6. Blue, red and grey... gorgeous. I guess I've got it bad for heartfelt acoustic numbers sung by with sweet emotion by a musical genius.
  7. Looks like I'm gonna have ta open a big ole can o whoop ass on yas. Alright, put "em up
  8. Dude, meet me in the ally for the fight. No weapons -- bare-fisted death match. I'm a girl, but I can totally take you. GRRRRRR -- that's my game face
  9. I agree with every one who stated that Quadrophenia is better than Tommy, but my favorite Who album is Who By Numbers John Lennon was an amazingly talented man who had true insight and took music in a new direction, but was probably a dick. If I was going to have beer with a Beatle, it'd be George. REM's Leaving NY is probably one of their best songs -- I like it more than Losing My Religion and Man in the Moon. Accelerate kicks ass, and I will fight anyone to the death in its defense. Around the Sun is a sup bar album, but kicked ass live. REM still kicks ass, and I will fight to the de
  10. Is it me, or was the camera work a luttle sub par -- not the camera work, but direction. They kept cutting to radnom people who had nothing to do with who was being introduced, or cutting to a camera that was moving.
  11. I apologize for being critical of the Dark Lord. I guess I can add this the list of the many things JT and I would disagree on .. I hate diet coke, prefer a clean shaven man, and think Steely Dan grew from the depths of hell. ..
  12. In defense of Phil Collins -- I did see Geneis on the reunion Tour and it was pretty damn good -- a very even balance between old and new ..even Tonight Tonigth Tonight kicked ass. And there was no crap Genesis (e.g. Land of Confusion, Illegal Alien.) Completly agree about Afterglow.
  13. Just specify -- Phil Collins the Singer, not Phil Collins the Drummer. That way, we still get Peter Gabrial Genesis and the good post PG Genesis -- everything up to Invisible Touch, although Domino is a good song. My vote -- Steely Dan. Steely Dan = Satan
  14. Can you recommend a nice, affordable hotel near the center? Driving in from jersey, and want to know I have an option to driviung two hours home after the show. Thanks.
  15. I totally get this and do it quite frequently (e.g. "Are these people serious?" "How could this stupid a-hole get paid more than me?!", etc.). Although the danger in this is when you are about to do you well-prepared very serious presentation, and your frind IMs you something about your boobs. Thenright as you are saying, "Thank you for taking the time" you spit out a quick giggle. Happens to me all the time.
  16. I know that I have not exactly embraced technology -- my life is not interesting enough to Twitter or provide hourly updates on Facebook ("going to the gym," "eating cookies," "going back to the gym."). Obviously, there some facets of this online universe that we are all slowly getting addicted to that I embrace (otherwise, I would not be here, right?) but the one thing that troubles me is Instant messaging. Not chatting with friends at home late at night, but in the office. I just don't think many of my co-workers get it. Or, they've just been so seduced by the wonders of technology that they
  17. I'll be there no later than 4 pm both nights to secure a front row location
  18. I had a dream once that I was at the dream concert (Wilco, REM & Robyn Hitchcock), and in the middle of it, I realized that Jeff had waxed his eyebrows and looked like a drag queen w/o makeup. Disturbing. Better dream -- I was in the family room in my childhood home, Jeff was in the kitchen eating pizza. Next thing I know, we were snuggling on the couch. He was wearong a red flannel shirt, jeans and white socks, smelled like Downy, and I could feel the flannel and his whiskers. Sweet...
  19. We're you coming from? I'm like 10 miles away. Yes -- I've been hoping for Wilco at Wellmont since it opened too. Saw Morrissey and Country Crows tere. Great Venue!
  20. What's with the Jersey haters!?!??!? I'm thrilled -- finally I don't have to deal with city traffic or drive hours to see my boys.
  21. And cap it off with a foot massage from Glen Seriously - I'm all a twitter thinking about two Evenings with Wilco in Montclair
  22. Two for Montclair -- thinking about Scranton too. Think a 3rd Montclair night is doable?
