Happy 20th, VC! I don't remember when I discovered it, but I believe at the time it was a part of Wilcobase.com. I can''t even remember if Boss Tweedy is my original username. It seems like I may have had an older username that I forgot. I know that happened on the R.E.M. message board Murmurs.com. This board is always incredibly civil and is still my favorite Wilco-related forum in which to participate. Thanks for sharing the account of VC's origins, Donna! And thanks for all you do to make this a great place to be!

A friend offered me his extra ticket to see John Mulaney tonight. I'm not cool enough to have known who John Mulaney is, but I'm looking forward to the show!

Today (well, yesterday now) my favorite sports team won the World Series. They've given me 40 summers of joy with a good number of heartaches also. But they're my team, they were my first love (along with the sport of baseball in general), and I'm so excited I can't sleep. What an incredible season filled with the lowest of lows and now the highest of highs.

Still my favorite Wilco album. Even though it takes me back to a specific (and completely different) time of my life, I still love it every bit as much as I did in my early 20s. It's hard to believe 25 years have passed since it came into the world.

This seems like as good as a place as any to drop this. NEW SPOON!

I thought this was my 40th World Series, but I forgot about the strike season of '94 in which there was no World Series. I wanted to go, but tickets to the games in Atlanta are over $1,000 for standing room only! Oh, well. Maybe some day. Go Braves!

I saw recently that they were closing up shop and hate it.

He's a successful realtor in the Raleigh, North Carolina area now. Here's a great podcast interview with him from not long ago. https://bsidepodcast.com/podcast/episode-7-george-huntley/

I was nervous before hearing the new album due to the passage of time as well as the departures of singer/songwriter/guitarist George Huntley and drummer Peele Wimberley. After one listen I thought that many of the songs would sound very good live. After the second listen something clicked, and for several days I couldn't stop listening to the album. I miss George's contribution to the band, but all things considered it's a terrific record. I saw them live in Atlanta a couple of weekends ago, and so many amazing memories of their shows during my college years flooded my mind. Coin

Hard to believe it's been 10 years since they called it a day. Ten years ago today.

Well dang. Has this already started? I really need to pay better attention.

I'm so out of it these days that I didn't even realize it's already playing. Thanks for your review. It's inspired me to go to the theater for it. Plus who knows how many more times we'll have a chance to see a new Eastwood movie?

The Connells. First time I’ve seen them since April 18, 2002. So excited!

I was nonplussed when I learned that some people don't find him funny. I always thought he was a comedic genius. On Mondays my high school and college friends and I always talked about his Weekend Update performances. For the last couple of days I've spent a few hours watching his standup routines and late night appearances on YouTube. If laughter's the best medicine then I should be recovering from this sinus infection I'm battling in no time. Norm left us way too soon.
