  1. I'm not going to SBS, but I do have COVID (probably - I have an appointment for testing later this week) and signed the petition. Hope it works out for everyone. I'm pretty sure I have Omicron, and this stuff is spreading like wildfire!
  2. Built To Spill Spoon Yo La Tengo New Pornographers Pinegrove Mitski Swamp Dogg And I'm hoping from something new by the Decemberists.
  3. Merry Christmas to our fearless leader and to everyone at VC! Sending lots of love to y'all today and in the new year. Fingers crossed Solid Sound will happen and I will see lots of your faces there!
  4. I haven't listened to a lot of new stuff this year. Maybe that has to do with the fact that I'm approaching 50 and am quite set in my ways at this point. In no particular order (aside from the first one because that Connells album is phenomenal considering the lost two members and that 20 years passed since their last album) here are a few of my faves: The Connells - Steadman's Wake Japanese Breakfast - Jubilee Sturgill Simpson - Cuttin' Grass Vol. 2 Connie Smith - The Cry of the Heart Charley Crockett Music City USA Elizabeth King - Living in the Last Day
  5. Tix procured! Looking forward to seeing old friend and making some new ones in May!
  6. I'm thinking the 3-day pass is probably the best choice for me.
  7. Happy 20th, VC! I don't remember when I discovered it, but I believe at the time it was a part of Wilcobase.com. I can''t even remember if Boss Tweedy is my original username. It seems like I may have had an older username that I forgot. I know that happened on the R.E.M. message board Murmurs.com. This board is always incredibly civil and is still my favorite Wilco-related forum in which to participate. Thanks for sharing the account of VC's origins, Donna! And thanks for all you do to make this a great place to be!
  8. A friend offered me his extra ticket to see John Mulaney tonight. I'm not cool enough to have known who John Mulaney is, but I'm looking forward to the show!
  9. Today (well, yesterday now) my favorite sports team won the World Series. They've given me 40 summers of joy with a good number of heartaches also. But they're my team, they were my first love (along with the sport of baseball in general), and I'm so excited I can't sleep. What an incredible season filled with the lowest of lows and now the highest of highs.
  10. Still my favorite Wilco album. Even though it takes me back to a specific (and completely different) time of my life, I still love it every bit as much as I did in my early 20s. It's hard to believe 25 years have passed since it came into the world.
  11. This seems like as good as a place as any to drop this. NEW SPOON!
  12. I thought this was my 40th World Series, but I forgot about the strike season of '94 in which there was no World Series. I wanted to go, but tickets to the games in Atlanta are over $1,000 for standing room only! Oh, well. Maybe some day. Go Braves!
  13. I threw a little money your way this week. It's not much, but I hope it will help.
  14. I saw recently that they were closing up shop and hate it.
  15. He's a successful realtor in the Raleigh, North Carolina area now. Here's a great podcast interview with him from not long ago. https://bsidepodcast.com/podcast/episode-7-george-huntley/
  16. I was nervous before hearing the new album due to the passage of time as well as the departures of singer/songwriter/guitarist George Huntley and drummer Peele Wimberley. After one listen I thought that many of the songs would sound very good live. After the second listen something clicked, and for several days I couldn't stop listening to the album. I miss George's contribution to the band, but all things considered it's a terrific record. I saw them live in Atlanta a couple of weekends ago, and so many amazing memories of their shows during my college years flooded my mind. Coin
