I'm gonna go with your assessment.

I think it's Lennon. I hear "eh-o!" Speaking of mellotron, the intro to Strawberry Fields Forever is 10 seconds of bliss.

Do you care that Beck has a new album coming out

I thought his collaboration with Wilco as part of the Record Club project was fun. "Dixie Peach Promenade" was my favorite track. http://www.beck.com/recordclub/index.php/category/skip-spence-oar -
I Shall Be Free No. 10, from Another Side of Bob Dylan. Not one of the stronger tracks.

My Morning Jacket, "Anytime." During the keyboard riff to open the song, right before the band kicks in, Jim James whispers "daaaaaamn." -

I care. I enjoy most of Beck's records. Guero probably was the last one that I really listened to a lot; never spent much time with The Information or Modern Guilt. The new track, as much as Sea Change, also reminds me a bit of Mutations, which actually is my favorite Beck album. I've always liked the songs, the production and the overall vibe of the record. He cut that one [mostly] live in the studio with his touring band. Kind of a breath of fresh air to hear some great musicianship backing great songs after two [also awesome] sample-heavy records. -

I'd go with the tightly constructed pop-rock songs. Not necessarily a dream set but tunes that are generally catchy. I'm Always in Love California Stars Box Full of Letters Outtamind Outtasite Heavy Metal Drummer Dawned on Me War on War

Hendrix, Red House: "That's alright, I got my guitar..." -
Exactly. Another favorite moment -- in "Only a Northern Song," when Paul comes in to harmonize on one note/word, "...or if my hair is BROWN." Paul's bassline in that song is terrific as well.

Good albums with terrible cover art.

I've got a Beatles tab book that also says it's guitar. Way too fast for me.

Other guitarists can chime in here, but there are some stylistic differences between classical and flamenco playing. This is the tune Paul's talking about. It does require some dexterity and technical prowess, but not the speed of flamenco. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jKSg8t4zyLg

For a long time I thought it was a flamenco recording (technically it is) pasted into the mix, until I read that it's a flamenco sample on a mellotron. No way John, George or Paul actually played that part. I love that the guitar break in "Tomorrow Never Knows" is the "Taxman" solo played backwards.

They're from Lawrence. Heard some of their stuff. Not bad.
-
I love the flamenco guitar sample John plays on the mellotron to open "Bungalow Bill." And I love the steady stream of "woooooooooooooooooooooooooahhhhhhhhhhhhs" going on off-mic during "Me and My Monkey." 1-2-3-FAH!

Fact: Radio Cure is one of the best Wilco songs in the entire catalog. -
I love Paul singing the bass part in "I Will." And all the parts he played in "Mother Nature's Son," which is all of them. Love that big, echo-y drum sound he achieved by setting them up out in the hallway.

When they performed for the Queen, John saying, "For those of you in the cheap seats, if you'll clap your hands during this next number ... the rest of you, if you'll just rattle your jewelry..."
-
I love that one.

I get this a lot when I mention Wilco.

The squeaky chair is Ringo's shoe. Apparently he couldn't stand still and Macca was about to kill him. Lennon gave Harrison shit about missing THE chord as Harrison walked into the studio right after they finished. Harrison: "what's everyone doing?" Lennon: "oh, nothing, George, just finishing the most important recording for the album."

John and Paul's "Iiiiiiii stillllll loooooove herrr" harmony in "I Don't Want to Spoil the Party."

Is this talent, or blasphemy? Chopping up MJ's work to where it's pretty much unrecognizable. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TUDsVxBtVIg#t=753
