  1. I considered buying SBS recently and marveled at the way the album broke into four sides, and wondered whether that impacted overall track order. YHF, however, ending a side just *before* the "subset of 'Heavy Metal Drummer'' is veerrry misfortunate.
  2. I just used it as an excuse to order twice as much stuff -- got all 5 Residency posters for $75 plus free poster and free shipping. the rest comes with the DVD.
  3. It could be that Nonesuch is cranking up the marketing machine to try to push this one over the top. The timing of a summer release, enough mainstream press and good buzz could be spun into another grammy. It's like a college sports information department gearing up for a Heisman candidate.
  4. ... especially if taken internally.
  5. Seriously, in reading back in this thread -- and these type of threads overall -- I'm afraid people get tripped up on their preconceived notions and expectations, trying to pigeonhole an ensemble's creation (and include the band, the engineers, anyone who impacts this project) into what the listener envisions as the proper direction for the band, which as limited by his/her experience, can only be more of the same (or more of what the listener likes). As with any art, it should be most judged on: 1) What do they have to say? 2) How do they say it? Context -- your past experience, your em
  6. Within your terms, does Pat Sansone exist?
  7. Is anyone goiong to either screening in Sarasota -- well I'm betting a lot of people will, but anyone from the list?
  8. Some of the most important influences on rock and roll remain in obscurity to this day. It's the value of their influence. I would say the arc of the band's development, their approach to their fans and their craft are inspiration enough to countless other bands that toil in widely ranging levels of success based on the inspiration of Wilco. So, yeah.
  9. Does it mean Jay Bennett has a new member name? I couldn't agree more. there's the debate whether suffering makes an artists work more relevant, but then why would you ever wish that on anyone for your own selfish goal?
  10. I've seen Ann Curry interviewed. The similarities are uncanny ...
  11. Is the head supposed to bobble? He looks like a bobblehead naturally.
  12. I was implying that Helm was not on the best of terms with Robertson -- that he'd use the hatchet. Honestly, though, Robertson gave his Band mates a thoroughly raw deal.
  13. Including or excluding Miles Davis?
  14. I agree with most of what you said here -- and this from a life-long Packer fan. But Favre is one of the greats for one reason -- his ability to play for so long, play through injuries and maintain the streak. His style of play had as much to do with keeping him from getting seriously injured -- although in later years his rep helped him as much (good ol' boy, gift sack to Strahan, opposing players would pull up and not take the cheap shot on him). You can't discredit him for staying healthy. But, yeah, all the records -- including most interceptions -- came as a result. Despite how he cheapen
  15. I can honestly feel certain in saying that of all Wilco's albums the next album will be one of them.
  16. If shows are part of a cable package with comcast, they're not usually available free with OnDemand. This is an excellent heads up since I do get Sundance, but seldom watch it.
  17. Well then, that *would* be different than any of their predecessors.
