  1. Thanks Mike! These are some great shows. Love How to Fight Loneliness transitioning into Laminated Cat during the November 2nd show.
  2. I was wondering the same thing
  3. After linking to the myspace page I found this: http://blogs.suntimes.com/derogatis/2009/08/some_more_dates_ive_been_meani.html 3. 5. Religious views: Well for starters, Hell is chrome.
  6. If it isn't my favorite Andrew Bird song its in the top 3.
  7. I've been a big Andrew Bird fan for some time now and have always had his Bowl of Fire stuff handy but until recently I hadn't given it a good spin. I've got to say I'm blown away. The Swimming Hour has got to be one of my favorite works by the bird now. Just thought I'd share!
  8. Here's the link: http://www.npr.org/blogs/monitormix/2009/07/drowned_in_sound.html It's Friday, so let's talk about poetry. Actually, let's discuss the fact that lyrics rarely, if ever, look good on paper, without the aid of music and melody. There are, of course, exceptions: Jeff Tweedy, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell and Patti Smith, to name just a few. But most lyrics don't have the same meaning taken out of context. Sure, you can put the words on a card or in a letter, scribble them on the pages of a notebook or even get them tattooed on your body, but the lyrics' original power likely came
  9. My first as well. Not the first Wilco tickets I've gotten though, those would be for Chicago on October 18th .
  10. Got it. Haha I remember seeing the pre-sale for another location being tweedy so i gave it a try and what do you know. Got myself a GA. So excited.
  11. I was wondering about this too. I haven't seen anything about e-mailing the hq for a password. When I did the Chicago pre-sale I know the PW was alfred. Anyone know more on this. A few minutes away .
  12. Here's the rundown from #4 today. #4 - A Shot in the Arm Key Lyric: "The ashtray says you were up all night/ when you went to bed, with you’re darkest mind/You’ve changed.” “A Shot in the Arm” is quintessential Wilco. A fervent rocker that builds to a cathartic climax, it comes stocked with a cool guitar analogy, (”we fell in love in the key of C,”), and the reoccurring accusation that “you’ve changed.” Tweedy pours all of his late-90s angst and worry into this one, crying out for “something in my veins, bloodier than blood.” It all comes to a head with the powerful, malleable mantra, “w
  13. Ah yes. I've been having trouble accessing the "INFO" button on the shows page recently but just went to the frontgate site and found it. Thanks.
  14. Sorry this isn't exactly related to the thread but... Please tell me this is a Mighty Wind reference.
  15. I also seem to neglect Summerteeth for some reason when it comes to the favorite record question. And every time I listen to it I wonder why? Having said that, AGIB is always gonna be tops for me.
  16. I was just about to put Andrew Bird on my wish list for Chicago and St. Paul but it appears he's busy both nights Not exactly an "opener" but hey, what would we be without wishful thinking?
  17. Luckily this show is pretty much in my backyard. Its times like these that I'm glad to be at the University of Minnesota
  18. Confirmation for the Roy Wilkins Auditorium show in St. Paul: http://www.theroy.org/events/detail.jsp?event_id=551 Apparently the venue isn't fantastic but I don't care. They're coming to St. Paul so I'm pleased.
  19. Hopefully not breaking the rules here (not a wilco video): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-_qYnnCB3Y
