Ottobar is Baltimore.

How I Got Over is the better album, but it's very close.
Also I wouldn't call HIGO a feel good album. It's pretty damn dark.
-
I'd rather have a Crazy Horse album (and tour?) than a Buffalo Springfield reunion tour.
-
Really enjoyable, although it does use the old 'from the ashes of Son Volt' line.
Well that's a first.
-
I'm no Joy Division fan at all, but that's awesome.

This one is coming in February. MOJO gave it 5 stars. Really looking forward to hearing it.
hell yes

I have not.
It's out already?!
How is it?
Out this week. It was streaming last week and I listened twice. My CD should be here any day now, but it sounded good from those two listens. Similar vein as her first album, but it seemed like a stronger bunch of songs. If you liked Me Oh My at all you won't be disappointed.

Heard this one yet PopTodd?

A fine ass indeed

Newer stuff, from what I gather. There was a thread on the DBT board about it, and from what I remember he wrote and recorded a lot of it this past winter. Sounds like more of a full band thing than a solo acoustic record.
There are a few new songs on youtube. I think one of them is called 12:01. Another is Heat Lightning Rumbles In The Distance, or something like that. One of the videos has him talking about about the writing process for the album.

Great band. Probably the best live show I've ever seen. That "best band in hip hop" tag they get so often is an insult, because they're one of the most skilled bands out there, period. So much fun to watch.
Their discography is terrific too, especially lately. They're one of the most consistently excellent bands out there, and the kind of act that can pull in true hip hop fans, casual fans, and even people who claim to hate hip hop. They get some love on here in the Now Playing threads, but not enough.

Beastie Boys were/are definitely great but not even really a rock band.
Anyway, the HoF/top 100 concept is a little ridiculous, but it never fails to get discussion going. I don't really mind it.

Forgot Lambchop and Jason Lytle (most likely)
-
Yeah that would probably further complicate things from a legal standpoint.

I think even for unreleased stuff it's tricky. I'm not an expert, but I remember reading some conflicts about demos/unreleased tracks when Rivers Cuomo wanted to start posting some of his solo demos (mostly for the then-unreleased songs from Songs From The Black Hole) on his myspace. So it's likely complex stuff for Wilco especially.
If Wilco's label was paying for studio time I would imagine they own the rights to the results of those sessions, whether they made it to the album or not.

I guess any QOTSA news is taken with a grain of salt, but they've had some recent facebook posts that more or less confirm an album sometime this year. It's certainly been long enough since Era Vulgaris.

My big ones are:
Mark Lanegan
Queens
Justin Townes Earle
Patterson Hood

Yeah I don't really get how it's "dumbing down" to use an existing product to make everyday tasks manageable for the handicapped.

My Darling is AT THE VERY LEAST better than We're Just Friends
Yeah, after I posted that I considered editing to say this. They're certainly the bottom two, My Darling is just longer, so it wins. Or loses.

No problem there. It's the worst song on Summerteeth.

why do you make these threads?

you raise an interesting point
New Neil Young album - with Crazy Horse!

This kicks so much ass. An album would be great, but a tour is what I really want.
