  1. You messed a few lyrics up. It's "this is what happens when wings separate," not "when we separate." And "we can't be flown," not "formed." And a couple other minor errors that were probably intentional. I really liked the piano, and most of the vocals. The guitar is a bit much for the song. I think it calls for a cleaner sound. It's well put-together, though.
  2. It's almost as if I've seen this interview posted at least seven times in this forum.
  3. I was eating at Arby's earlier this evening, and they were playing a typical set of rather boring rock-ish songs, when all of a sudden I hear the synth twangs of ELT. It was a pleasant surprise.
  4. How did Everlasting sound? So far, the only comment was about it being a low, from someone who dislikes the song.
  5. I don't think you'll hear anything else from Jeff about Jay, to be honest. He made a comment at the first show after Jay's death, and he's mentioned it in several interviews, but I don't think it will come up in concert anymore. And I love Everlasting. I'm glad there's a chance they'll play it at Wolf Trap next week.
  6. All this usage of the word "pretentious" is pretty damn...well, you know. Expecting a band's every decision to work in your favor is about as pretentious as you seem to think their tour routing is to begin with. So, once again, I will declare that you are an idiot.
  7. It's a decent enough song, but I'm glad it wasn't on the album. It's a lot like Let's Not Get Carried Away for me. I enjoy both songs, but couldn't imagine them on an album.
  8. I would like to make it clear, once again, how much of an idiot you are. Wilco is one of the most dedicated touring bands around. And you're complaining? Shut the fuck up, and be glad they tour at all. For a middle age band with families, any touring should be considered a gift to the fans.
  9. Good lord, dude. I'm surprised you were able to step off of Lance's dick long enough to post these comments. The guy is a success story when you consider the cancer and such. But I think it's pretty obvious that he used some steroids. Be realistic, man.
  10. Jesus Christ, you're an idiot. Normally I wouldn't stoop to that level, but your argument has shown so very little intelligence that I feel I must. Last I checked, every one of the shows on this tour either sold out, or came close to selling out. I'm pretty sure that means they're brining the show where people want to see it. They'll play San Diego again. Until then, shut the fuck up and enjoy all that the band already does for it's fans.
  11. How did you not see this? http://forums.viachicago.org/topic/40580-wta-bonus-ep/
  12. One of my top ten favorite albums ever made.
  13. How many articles will it take for Nels to be called a "secret weapon" enough times that it's not a secret anymore?
  14. Perhaps I did. I wasn't attacking him/her, I've just grown incredibly tired of hearing people act like everything in the world is now affected by MJ's death, and basically saying that every musician is obligated to give a brief statement next time they're in front of a microphone. No disrespect at all, but it isn't the end of the world, and I know I'm not the only one that would be happy to hear nothing more about MJ.
  15. That was actually a pretty well-written review, except for that fact that they seem to be ignoring the fact that they were the ones calling SBS "dad-rock." Considering how the bashed SBS, it was strange to see it mentioned in a positive light, but all told, it was a rather fair review. I probably would give it about a 7.3 myself. I'm shocked, really. I expected them to give it a 3.something, and write a review that had nothing to do with the actual music, instead focusing on the band's image.
  16. I've also rediscovered how amazing this album is.
  17. Wonderful does not even begin to describe this record.
  18. I doubt that that will affect Wilco's first week sales ranking. By the time those charts are revealed, the MJ craze will have died down, because everyone will have already bought the records between his death and early next week. So by W(TA)'s release, MJ records will go back to selling like they were a week ago. But maybe not.
  19. That's not really a valid comparison. I get your point, but the producer of a record is much more recognizable than a pitching coach. I can guarantee those albums would have sounded different had Quincy not been involved.
  20. Thank you. I've had to put up this argument numerous times lately against people who seem to believe MJ played and arranged every single sound on every song of his.
  21. I just have a problem with people expecting something from someone like Jeff, in regards to something like MJ passing. Like I said, expecting a statement on Jay is reasonable. He still doesn't have to give one, but there's clearly a relationship there that the fans will be curious about. Maybe he doesn't really care? I think it's a damn tragedy that he died the way he did, and I think much of MJ's life was a tragedy, but I'm very tired of hearing about MJ. If Jeff wasn't a fan of the man or the music, why must he say something because it's what people are doing? Basically, if they ha
  22. I hate these questions, because I don't understand why people now expect every performer to say something about MJ next chance they get. I would bet a large sum that Jeff and co. never met Michael, so it's not like there was a personal connection, or anything. If it was a big deal to Jeff, he would have said something. Contrary to current popular belief, Michael Jackson's death is not all that's going on in the world. I'm sure Jeff will acknowledge that it's sad, but is it really necessary to publicly comment? With Jay, I understand the need to hear Jeff comment, but MJ? It seems strang
