  1. yeah $12 is high for a 7" but i think the standard price is 9 or so bucks now. crazy.
  2. that puts a burden on the stores, though. from what I hear, stores can't send unsold RSD stock back to the distributors (hence all the 2014 RSD stuff sitting in the sale bins).
  3. the amount of online vitriol that Neko's been getting as a result of not doing an encore because someone wouldn't comply with her no phones/camera rule is ridiculous. http://www.oregonlive.com/music/index.ssf/2015/04/readers_weigh_in_neko_case.html
  4. i was in the front row for my first Wilco show (YHF tour), towards stage left. it was at The Orpheum, where the front row seats go right to the stage.... it's a great venue if you are really close, and i've had the good fortune to get row 3 tickets for Nick Cave and 2nd row center aisle for Iggy and the Stooges back in 2007. at one point Iggy jumped off the stage to the aisle and was face to face with me, singing directly in my face. pretty fucking awesome.
  5. i have one suggestion that would decrease flipping: do not state the pressing size. let people figure out if it's rare or not, don't create artificial demand that way.

  9. I'd say most single LPs were around $20 and 2lp were $30 or so. Notable exceptions were the Beefheart 2lp for near $40 and the blue 180g signed Basement Tape LP that was $45.
  10. yeah i was surprised by the no goodie bag deal myself... usually a bunch of shit but there were a few decent things here or there. that said, i spent *way* more than i was expecting to...
  11. yes, those two are awesome. i really like the record he did w/ Harold Budd too (_The Pearl_), but it's very ambient. _Taking Tiger Mountain_ and _Before and After Science_ are also worth getting.
  12. that show was awesome. i felt bad for Ethan since the crowd was rather small, but sunday night shows are a tough draw for people (plus, Brokeback/Chris Brokaw and Thalia Zedek/Black Helicopter were also competing for the same audience). i didn't really know much of the material (am only super familiar w/ _Magnificent Fiend_) but it all smoked. he's got a great band. go see him if they play your town (Chicago is next, at the Abbey tmrw night)
