  1. yes, you can drop stuff starting at 7AM. i dropped a blanket and some chairs around noon, and I'm glad i did. we went to dinner and then went to the venue and it was pretty packed. i was a bit worried that maybe someone would have moved our stuff but it was there. there's a front section that's reserved for VIPs or maybe season series passes, but the rest of the park is open. if you are in front of the soundboard, you need a chair that is 12" or less from the ground.
  2. Agalloch. about the most opposite from Phish you can get
  3. yeah i should have mentioned that but i'd seen them do that as part of the Eugene Mirman comedy fest thing at Berklee a few months ago. it's a good one, though and very classy of Neko to give Eric some set list space too.
  4. you bet bleedorange. thanks for reading! Neko's always a welcome way to spend an evening. i was pretty impressed with the setting, too. really nice way to watch a show.
  5. review: http://digboston.com/boston-music-concerts/2014/06/review-neko-case-at-boarding-house-park/ spot the VC'er:
  6. sunday night shows are tough, esp for my wife since she's been called for federal jury duty and had to be out of the house by 6:15 or so today to make it into Boston on time. but definitely worth it. i've only been to the Hampton Ballroom (i guess they ditched the 'casino' name) once before, but that's a pretty good rock hall.
  7. a fan for sure. i am loving the new lineup w/ Gonzalez on keys and guitar. add Deer Tick, a +1 for my wife, a very close friend from High School also joining us, and a chance to hang out w/ some of the DBT boardies and that sealed it. and who doesn't love watching this guy on stage.
  8. haha, thought you might like that one! yeah that was a fun night. a bit of a pain to shoot, photo-wise, since Neko didn't want anyone on the front steps, and with everyone sitting down in low beach chairs, my balky knee wasn't really conducive to kneeling at all. my review should be up today so i'll post a link when it's done.
  9. Drive-By Truckers and Deer Tick @ Hampton Beach Casino (or is it Ballroom now?)
  10. yeah the very front part is covered except for the sides...i opted for a spot above and behind the steps back more, but more centered.
  11. Likewise. Just laid down my blanket and chairs about an hour ago.
  12. i recall "Sometime To Return" getting a fair bit of airplay and MTV play when it came out.
  13. I'll post Neko Case photos from tmrw's show. If that doesn't change things for the better, nothing will.
  14. would Soul Asylum (via "Runaway Train") be considered a one hit wonder? they did some great records.
  15. didn't speedracer/sexnap come back at some point after the 1st banning? or was that self-exile?
  16. If the warp or warps are not too bad, this method worked for me (on a Melvins record that had the cartridge jump off the record in a couple spots): Take a half dozen or more 12" x 12" floor tiles and put them on the record against the floor. I left it like that for at least six months and it worked out well. Well enough to play sounding fine.
  17. Most 7" are $8 now. I remember when they were 2-3 bucks.
  18. have you bought a 10" recently for less?
  19. i hope everyone watched this last night. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0074102/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1
  20. yeah but then 2014 is an outlier of a dozen year stretch... there are plenty of bands that i like who only kick into the touring grind every 3-4 years, and it's not a given that they'll play Boston.
