  1. check out some of the records from the Sublime Frequencies label... they know their stuff.
  2. Witch is another great one...i had a reissue copy of _Lazy Bones_ but there's since been a pretty nice multi-disc set released: http://www.amazon.com/We-Intend-To-Cause-Havoc/dp/B007IXEUN0
  3. you've probably seen him around...that's Rich Gastwirt, photographer extraordinaire and dashing man about town (let's see if Google alerts gets him over here).
  4. this record is totally amazing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wo7jnGJNx7w
  5. not sure if you are being serious or not, but i couldn't help myself.
  6. there may have been the threat of a Bob Weir visit. you can never be too prepared.
  7. maybe if you're lucky, you can touch it like my friend did
  8. jff, just curious as to what band you were playing in. Wurster is hilarious. his facebook/twitter feed is consistently awesome.
  9. not a boot: http://www.discogs.com/Peter-Laughner-Peter-Laughner/release/1881920
  10. i gotta say though that The Paradise sucks as a room when it's sold out. i suppose that is true of most any venue, but once you are in there is no moving. show was solid, though. much better than the Bruins.
  11. the way i learned that Page was coming to Boston was via Haflin's facebook page.
  12. not that i go to a lot of arena shows, but they are the one band that can connect w/ the audience despite the massive size.
  13. well, not sure i'd label him as a hero, but he's certainly got a body of work and access that speaks for itself. i think the only famous photographer i've ever met was Bob Gruen...ran into him during the Stooges set at ATP a few years ago.
  14. Jimmy Page stopped by the In Your Ear shop while he was in town getting an honorary degree. pretty awesome! i took a photo of Mudhoney in that place after I interviewed Mark and Steve last year.
  15. a great paean to another acid-damaged compatriot. the first time i ever saw them (unfortunately, it was after Kathleen had left the band) was one of the most fucked up shows i think i'd ever seen. they really opened my eyes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pa5cRNypJsw
  16. the buttholes were an amazing, amazing band. once they left Touch and Go it all went pear-shaped pretty quickly, but holy crap were they an inventive and mind-bending band.
  17. yes. playoff hockey is the only sport where i'll watch games that don't involve the hometown team (well, NFL to an extent, but not to the same extent).
  18. bummer. i kinda want to watch the Bruins game though...i've had show conflicts now for the last 3 games.
  19. yeah that vid is really terrific. let's see more i was so happy when they busted out that Pavement tune. i might have done a little dance in the photo pit. i voted to get "Gold Soundz" as one of the covers and enlisted friends, but was certainly not disappointed w/ "Cut Your Hair."
  20. Kinda pissed I am missing the third straight Bruins game though. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. U like "U Got The Look"? terrible. for people who don't like Metallica, do you like other thrash metal bands, or just dislike the genre?
