  2. Airiel is pretty good for current stuff. for older stuff, i'd suggest Ride, or Lush.
  3. here's my review of the Kills/Horrors show: http://www.gigwise.com/reviews/live/50821/...adise-Boston-MA Kills a Horrors shot:
  4. they were on tour together last year. i like J better.
  5. no love for 'nefarious'? 'and now your teeth are all red and there's a little bit about you i don't wanna know' classic.
  6. who did the original? i didn't know it was a cover. GCT is their best record. greatness abounds.
  7. _breakfast on the beach of deception_ kinda spans those two..._The Insect God_ is also pretty good. i didn't like Lisher's solo record at all.
  8. Greg Lisher! and Chris Pedersen is a fantastic drummer too.
  9. _Dreamtime_ is a ton better than _Sonic Temple_...if you've not heard that one, seek it out.
  10. donald 'buck dharma' roeser [blue oyster cult]- crafts the finest solos ever...listen to 'last days of may' and tell me i'm wrong jon mcgeoch [magazine, siouxsie/banshees, public image] - woefully underrated player...best of the 80s? maybe. john fahey - singlehandedly created the new primitive america genre. amazingly skillful, and not afraid to do new things. marc ribot [tom waits, elvis costello, robert plant, john zorn, solo] - master of all styles, incredibly skilled wrt to melody and emotion. thurston moore/lee renaldo [sonic youth] - impossible to credit one and not the other...revolu

  13. 'we're gonna kill the california girls' - Sonic Youth "Expressway To Your Skull"
  14. my guess is that they will hit New England on the tail end of whatever European shows they do.
  15. 'grandpa pissed his pants again/he don't give a damn' - warren zevon, play it all night long
  16. 'Pearl of the Quarter' was my immediate choice.
  17. i readily admit i've changed my opinions about music before, and sometimes it takes multiple instances for something to sink in. but not this time. np: Butthole Surfers - Rembrandt Pussyhorse [now *this* is psychedelic music.]
