  1. finally got a chance to delve into the box... wow this is a pretty eye-opening release. hearing the evolution of the songs is really cool, and i gotta say the recording quality and pressing quality is superb. not sure if the silver sounds as good but i am not second guessing my decision to go w/ the black vinyl pressing.
  2. that's pretty wild, i never knew that.
  3. i've never had an issue w/ Bandcamp and i like that anything you buy is streamable via their app
  4. has anyone who purchased LPs via Bandcamp received their order yet? According to the email i got when i purchased it, the box isn't scheduled to ship until Oct 15th... kinda shitty when people already have their copies!
  5. NYT piece on YHF: Behind Wilco’s ‘Yankee Hotel Foxtrot,’ a Band Breaking Its Heart - The New York Times (nytimes.com)
  6. no, unfortunately Solid Sound got moved to the same weekend as Boston Calling, and SS's lineup was far more to my tastes. I had a friend who caught a couple of the NIN shows and said they were phenomenal. i have actually never seen NIN. I shot them on the tour w/ Soundgarden but didn't get a review ticket, just a photo pass. I did see How To Destroy Angels once.
  7. they occupy a strange place for me in terms of bands i love and seeing them. i was onto them pretty early; got a copy of Slay Tracks from a second hand dealer after grabbing the 10" and other early singles and saw them in 91 at the Middle East upstairs. always bought whatever record they were releasing and loved their material. then i didn't see them again until that 2010 reunion; not sure why i never saw them when they were in their prime. this tour is WAY better than the first reunion. through the power and the beauty of the internet, someone actually recorded the show i went
  8. kind of annoyed that the downloads are not available via Bandcamp; still waiting on my LPs.
  9. Pavement, if they were a simile to an apex predator re: bands, would be a ravenous great shark who can sprint on land. no band can touch them right now.
  10. gotta say that i never really checked them out aside from their work w/ Neko Case. there was an excellent podcast on Kreative Kontrol w/ the remaining members. never saw Dallas play but goddamn his brother shreds like a mofo.
  11. "I Don't Belong" is the best song they have written to date. got to see them twice in Dublin and finally will see them in Boston in a couple of weeks time.
  12. And I listened to that record last night w/ Otis. sounded great!
  13. great point. w/ that Summer Bummer discount i had the Summerteeth box in my cart but i doubt i will pull the trigger. i can listen to my 2009 reissue and be fine w/ it and stream the extras and live stuff as needed.
  14. ok, which of the band members tossed in Chat Pile? whoever it is gets my respect.
  15. overall i am glad i went, but for my tastes, the material was FAR too heavy on Avalon and Flesh + Blood. that said, the band sounded good, really good. Ferry doesn't have much sustain but sounded fine to me, i know some people were unhappy with his 77 year old vocals.
  16. Roxy Music tonight! not peeking at any set lists... wanna go in cold.
  17. we were back from the so-called Feuerzone but even about 150' back, it was surprising how hot the flames felt. those guys must have roasted on stage. Rammstein has some peculiarly German restrictions on what can and can't be done with the photos we took, but i can share a link so i'll get that up when the piece is live.
  18. Rammstein was one of the crazier photo shoots i've done... that's a lot of flame!
  19. great record. I haven't seen Toth on stage since 2006. it's been a while!
