  1. Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats and King Buffalo tonight. finally checking out Big Night Live (i don't have much hope for it, based on my youngest son's assessment from his show there a few months ago).
  2. i was gonna be legit surprised if they didn't play that one.
  3. song 39 https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/guided-by-voices/2022/neumos-seattle-wa-4b8957ba.html
  4. thx for the heads up. Feast Of Wire was the last one i was truly in love with, though there are good bits on records after that.
  5. my all-time fave Nick Cave moment was this song; a friend of mine who was right next to me recorded it... I held up Nick by his skinny little calf as he was standing precariously on the backs of the seats.
  6. Khruangbin. psyched to check out Roadrunner, the new venue in Boston.
  7. Ministry/Melvins/Corrosion of Conformity solid bill
  8. i imagine that my door knob has better hearing than J Mascis at this point.
  9. Eitzel has incredible talent and is one of the most self-sabotaging artists i've seen outside of Pentagram.
  10. i don't remember Justin in The Babies but i did see them once because of the Morby and Cassie/Vivian Girls connection. I liked this song a lot back in the day, will have to check out Justin's work.
  11. thx Paul, sometimes my brain cells misfire even for events i was at; i'll make the correction. i saw the mariachi band when i was leaving the mezcal tasting from behind where John and Nels were sitting. I was hustling off for a dinner reservation so i don't know if/when/where they played. as you noted, certainly not at the opening toast. (btw, what was that opening ceremony? I couldn't really tell)
  12. Eleventh Dream Day - if the jagged tone of Neil's Old Black excites you, i think you would like this band. track to check out: i don't know Cut Worms all that well but if you like breezy 70s country rock you will likely find it appealing Iceage started out pretty punkrock (first gig i saw, the singer intentionally hit me in the head w/ his guitar neck) but they have morphed into a pretty good facsimile of The Saints (Aussie band)... i can only embed 4 vids so here's the last... Mike Watt is one an american hero, one of the ni
  13. no word on if they played "Jesús, Etc" or not.
  14. review and photos are up: http://bigtakeover.com/concerts/WilcosSkyBlueSkyFestivalHardRockMayaRivieraCancunMexicoJanuary17202022
  15. my friend commented on the extra day we were there that the WSP crowd brought the good weed. you could constantly smell it and there wasn't even any music going that day.
  16. doing a bit of research for my piece on Sky Blue Sky, i found this nugget: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kids_These_Days_(band) Had no idea that Liam and Ohmme were in a project w/ Vic Mensa!
  17. Both!! Shot all four days (for unknown reasons I didn’t get pit access for Wilco’s set on the first night) and am very happy with my shots. The stage lighting was great. Kudos to the production team.
  18. great recap Paul. Wilco, the bands, the staff - everyone delivered an incredible four days (at least for me; i had a great time. my only slight annoyance was discovering that there is seemingly a sizeable portion of cig smokers in the Wilco fan base).
  19. Laminated Cat was pure energy, the highlight of the set for sure. Tom Verlaine and Richard Lloyd took hold of human hosts (even if they aren't dead).
