  1. yeah i meant it more as a 'here's a band that jams the F out' rather than sounding a lot like the Dead, who have more blues/bluegrass and american folk tones in their songs (at least as far as i can tell, i am assuredly no expert on them). If you like that sort of thing, Earthless is another band worth your time and they are from California so they definitely tour the US. I don't think any of those bands on the label has been over. I did get to see Mythic Sunship at Roadburn in 2019 and they are signed to Tee Pee over here now so maybe! I would love to see Colour Haze too. they had been b
  2. literally, jams: https://papir.bandcamp.com/album/jams this Danish band is among the best of the current crop of guitar-based psych bands.. no vocals, just white heat. I'm currently listening to the reissue of Stundum, and it's another stunner. https://papir.bandcamp.com/album/stundum hope some people dig! the record label El Paraiso is chockful of similar goodies, check out Causa Sui as well while you're at it. The latest one (Szabodelico) sounds like they spent the summer surfing w/ Marc Ribot.
  3. not that this is anywhere complete but it does log a lot of the shows i've been to... kinda wish there more shows from the 90s added so i could have added them as well. i do add random setlists from time to time as i discover things online. https://www.setlist.fm/concerts/tinnitus_photo
  4. a few orders of magnitude higher, even. how many times have you seen them play, at least a few hundred at this point no?
  5. Thanks Paul! I do find it a bit of a challenge to review shows of a band I've seen so many times and keep the review fresh.
  6. and it's now defunct but they could have played at Southpaw.
  7. my review: https://digboston.com/fotobom-wilco-and-sleater-kinney-at-leader-bank-pavilion/ photos are embedded in the review w/ a link but if you're just a visual person you can find the galleries here: https://www.tinnitus-photography.com/concerts2021
  8. not from Wilco... every time i've had to shoot soundboard (Capitol Theatre in Concord NH, Wang in Boston, and now the Pavilion show) it's been venue and not band rules. Some bands (esp older female musicians) specify soundboard shoots though. edit - I emailed the photographer (mainly to compliment her, i really liked her shots and checked out her website) and she said it was a pit shoot but only from the wings, so Paul that's probably why you didn't notice her.
  9. just curious... for those at/near the rail, did the venue allow photographers in the security pit area last night?
  10. once that MGM venue at Fenway opens, there'll be a ~4500 ppl capacity indoor option.
  11. sorry i couldn't say hi but they had us way back at the soundboard... seems to be the norm for that place lately, which is maddening. i would have loved to have shot S-K up close.
  12. NNamdi has them in his fanny pack.
  13. back in 2015 or so, when the Loft installation was part of Solid Sound, wasn't there a listening station with outtakes and unreleased studio recordings being played? I didn't spend much time at it and can't recall much obv, but am thinking there are leftovers to be plundered for sure.
  14. my airbnb canceled on me already and it's memorial day weekend so i might just say fuck it and shoot Boston Calling instead. ugh. finding a place to stay is by far the worst part of the festival.
  15. they were a great band at least through Eliminator.
  16. always happy to see this thread get some new posts. Halford's IG is worth following.
  17. despite the playing of "Let's Go Rain," thankfully the rain didn't come back, which given this July in New England is a minor miracle. great show, and it was a very smooth event. i think we got there around 6:20ish and there was a sizeable line in front of us, but when we got to the seats it was easy to find prime real estate dead center and about 6-7 rows back. the sound was really good and the entire set up bodes well for future events there. hard to estimate but maybe 300-400 people in total? i didn't end up bringing any camera gear as i'd put in a request to jeff's
  18. He's gonna be in the general area for the shows at Mass MoCA and Tree House, so fingers crossed he sticks around for a few more days and plays Newport. They have not announced all the acts for either session yet so while it's a bit of a long shot, it's definitely in the realm of possibility.
  19. go to the Tree House show instead! I guess i missed the Joe allegations. what's w/ that? a #metoo moment?
  20. if anyone still needs a vinyl copy of the most excellent 4LP set Way Down In The Rust Bucket, you'll not find a better deal anywhere: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08T3JLCDH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  21. i thought it was a bit weird to have had to generate the quotes for the various travel insurance options rather than just state the cost of each one.
