  1. Adventure is good, but I don't think it's in the same league as Marquee Moon myself. I doubt people would go on about Television if their only output had been post Marquee Moon. I think there are a couple of good songs on it, but it's not a great album. I've got the first and second albums on a 1 disc set, and I wouldn't have bought that one if it was sold seperately.
  2. Moby Grape - Moby Grape Marquee Moon - Television
  3. It's his best album, in my opinion. It comes from a tv special he made for Swedish television, when he was living there. Here's a clip from that special Hey Cowboy The rest of the tracks are a bit more bleak in tone than that clip, but equally good. I would upload it for you, but I've only got it on cd at the moment and it takes ages to rip all the tracks etc...
  4. That's like that whole "don't smoke" arguement. Who wants more time on this earth if they can't spend it listening to Ys with a cigarette in their mouth? Not me! For anyone interested: Here's The Video (Not Sure How Official It Is) For "Fireworks" Off Of Strawberry Jam
  5. Try "Working Man's Dead". I'm no expert on them at all, but that's my favourite.
  6. At the moment, and I've only been listening to the whole thing for a couple of days now, I don't think that it has anything on it as brilliant as Bros, Take Pills or Good Girl/Carrots, but it's as enjoyable over all as Person Pitch so maybe by the end of the year it'll be able to compete for my imaginary top album of the year spot with Panda Bear. Oh, and I too am finding #1 the best song at the moment - it's Rolf Harris singing, isn't it? Don't trust Mark, he thought Joanna Newsom's Ys was rubbish. Trust me though; it is worth giving another go, at least.
  7. then i'm going to listen to strawberry jam by animal collective again
  8. Panda Bear only sings on Derek, from the songs you haven't heard. I think you can get this on atease too, if you don't want to waste your ratio.
  9. I've listened to the album, and I'm really enjoying it so far. Especially #1, Fireworks, Derek, and Peacebone (actually all of it's good). I got the transcode (I think) the other night, which I'm not overly bothered about, other than it messing with my ratio, as it's more than good enough to listen to until the album is available commerically. Edit: Forgot to say, I think this is their best album so far. I believe Feels was their best before this and I wasn't too keen on Sung Tongs, if that gives you some indictation of my taste.
  10. I'm not too keen on the singing, cos it reminds me of My Morning Jacket a bit too much (who I love, but I don't want to be listening to another band and think I'm listening to someone else, if you catch my drift). Hard Breaks is a brilliant song, though - hopefully they'll make an actual album with all the songs as good as that one.
  11. strawberry jam - animal collective (well, most of it)
  12. right, so i've ruined it for everyone now. i'll delete those bits on my last few posts then.
  13. this should explain alt country for anyone unsure.
  14. I've watched a few from each of the new series, I've just never been able to get into it because they always seem to rush far too quickly through the plot lines from all the ones I've seen. I never think I'm going to get into it, but I can sit down and watch them every now and again and not want to switch it off. Why can't you call him The X?*
  15. I watched 2 episodes this season. The first was about the daleks and some pig-faced men, or something in 1920's New York. Then I watched the final episode last weekend. And I've half watched a few other ones that all merge into each other (mainly because the endings and general plot lines are variations on an over-played theme) In the first of those I watched, the daleks seemed to be entirely different from what they used to be like. I think they flew, for one thing, which is nonsense, plus they mixed a human with a dalek and he ended up looking like an octopus in a pin striped suit. Apart f
  16. Not as tastefully as the nude photos I had done the other day. I said, "I'm not having these done unless they are done tastefully" Which, thankfully, they were . . . Not such a great product to sell, mind.
  17. I wasn't having a go at you at all, I was having a go at CNN (well, news in general) So, I apologize for making you feel like you had to apologize.
  18. Do controlled explosions carried out by the police on suspect packages/cars count as blasts nowadays? Top notch news reporting there then. Also, did you get the news about the mass floodings last week where 4 people died? But, then spending money on updating the sewage systems and flood protection isn't really top priority right now, nor internationally news worthy . . . man bites dog and all that. Edit: sorry, it took me a while to reply and I see that the controlled explosions thing has been explained already.
  19. What do you think of it? I'm currently of the opinion that if it weren't for Neo Consumer and Baby Ate My Eight Ball then this would be up there with Guerrilla and Phantom Power in my imaginary list of favourite SFA albums.
  20. I haven't listened to much else since it leaked (which I know is an empty internet statement, normally - and in this case too - based on an album having leaked for about 2 days, but what I mean is, it's good). Battersea Odyssey is my current favourite track, pop pickers!
  21. Ronnie Lane: He looked bad in The Small Faces, then he looked the coolest one in The Faces, he also looked great as a gypsy (proof that looking like a gypsy suits some people), but by the time the M.S kicked in, and his eyes went wonky, he went back to his Small Faces - rat looking - ways.
