So, if i removed the first sentence from the quote you'd understand what I said? Seeing as how that seems to be where the confusion has arisen from, rather than the second snetence, which was the question I was answering.

Oh, . . see . . . it never did. It related to the thing I originally quoted by Ninjas E. Liverwurst. That being, "I think this bears repeating. Whose revenues aren't harmed by illegal music downloads?" Maybe that's why it's hard to catch my drift. It's all about Bill and Jamal now, forget Virgil!

Bill has 1 bag of apples (200 apples in a bag), and Jamal has 1 bag of apples (again, 200 apples in a bag). They both grew them in the same conditions, paying for the same local farmer to harvest their crop - the farmer charged

Yeah, if you want it to be. Or you could just take it to mean the difference in "profit" between a band that spent money on conventional advertising, to a band that used more modern/internet methods - disregarding any other element, as that could be viewed as equal in both instances, and therefore of no value to the point being made.
-
Everybody who can't afford to go down the old fashioned route of music promotion. If you can put a song out on the internet for free and it be spred for free around the world, then every record you sell as a result will be profit, as you're paying nothing for promotion. However, if you spend an insane amount of money on pushing a band, then you've got to sell a lot of records before you break even. Hopefully that goes some way to answering your question.

someone said they're releasing it normally after christmas, so you'll be able to get it then at a normal price. they are doing the whole special edition thing in reverse - revolutionary in every sense of the word.

is it really possible to pay whatever you actually want for this album? i'm a little confused. could i pay 1p for it, say? has anyone tried?

I'm a big fan of the stuff he recorded in Woodstock with his wife Beverley Martyn (Stormbringer & The Road To Ruin), they've got a great sound to them, and it help that Levon Helm plays drums on some of the songs and John Simon is on it too. "John The Baptist" from Stormbringer is certainly a classic song, at the very least. They are a lot like Richard & Linda Thompson's first few albums in regard to the fact that they take it in turns to sing lead - which I think gives them a nice variation in feel without changing things about too much. Oh, and Bless The Weather is fantastic too. Not

I was just about to make this a 3 way battle, by saying I think The Kinks were a better band.

It's like Sly Stone if he'd been on Stax (not that Swamp Dogg was, but you get the picture). I wish his music would get some remastering - re-release treatment, rather than having to be sold by the man himself on his own website. It is nice to get a postal receipt with his name on it, though. -
Yeah, I agree, but I'm really like that about all his albums. There'll be a few great songs, but the rest is just him mucking around (in my view) - he's like the folk ryan adams!

That looks like a great documentary. I'll have to try and get a hold of it in the UK.

Have you heard any of their other albums? If not, maybe you'd prefer the previous two (at least) as they are not so abrassive - especially Sung Tongs which is mainly acoustic. Then, what would I know as I think the new album is one of the best things out this year. Oh, you might like Person Pitch by Panda Bear too perhaps - although that is very repetitive, albeit it in a hazy tance-like kind of way. You can check them both out at myspace - Animal Collective / Panda Bear where there's a mixture of their stuff. Bros by Panda Bear is my favourite song released in a very very long time. NP.

Great Way to Promote Self-Image

If you have another child at any point, and it's a boy, promise me you'll call him 'Ethelred the Unready' - well, at least think about it. -
Is Rick Rubin working with Bob Dylan on a new album in January 2008? This article seems to suggest so - here I'm guessing they've got their facts wrong, but you never know?!
-
Don't think so, it's actually a really old song (might be from the late 70's, but I'm sure it's at least as old as the 1980's). My votes: Nothing Was Delivered - Fotheringay When I Paint My Masterpiece - The Band Quinn The Eskimo - Manfred Mann, and also Ian and Sylvia Tyson do a great version too With God On Our Side - Manfred Mann City Of Gold - The Dixie Hummingbirds Mama You've Been On My Mind - Rod Stewart Girl From The North Country - Rod Stewart Si Tu Dois Partir - Fairport Convention

ok, well i guess i'll just put my straight razor away again then. just you watch yourself, though. i'm gonna play some stevie too, i think.

what does that mean? Fulfillingness' First Finale has always been my favourite out of that run. I don't know quite why other people tend to think it is the weak link in the chain.
