I did. Has Good Old Boys by Randy Newman been mentioned?

Forgot about Peep Show, and Garth Marenghi (although I thought Man to Man with Dean Leaner wasn't too funny) and Rab C. Nesbitt was absolutely amazing! I did see that Perfect Night In last night. A lot of their choices were a bit obvious (talking about Doctor Who for example - although Dave Ross was kind of funny, I guess). Really it was the bits of them speaking inbetween the clips that was the most enjoyable thing about it all.

Yeah, but when the UK aren't prepared to back me up, Ireland will always have my proxy. I assume you get all the same tv anyway.

Paging Dr Wilco: Get the defibrillators and save this album

Yeah, apart from the fact that he got booed at Newport first, and then also got booed at Forest Hills. Oh, and the same thing happened in Australia before he went to Britain. So, apart from that . . . -
Not really, and there are organs and some synths on it too - not too much though. But, it is a lot more straightforward than any of their other albums. Here is a song from the Gallowbird's Bark that some bloke has made a video for: A lot of it sounds like this, and some is a little weirder, but not too much.

same here, apart from the street legal bit (but i do like it a hell of a lot).

I was just being a little bit silly. I won't do it again.

Making Jazz albums fast doesn't count, as there's no other way of making them.

I don't think many non-British people will get a lot of the references used in that piece. I thought it was funny to read, certainly more like a blog than a national newspaper review, but entertaining none-the-less. I don't agree with them, though. -
Beach Boys: Friends, 20/20, Sunflower, Surf's Up, Carl & the Passions, Holland (20/20 is the weak link in that chain, but it's better than a lot of group's best album's, so there!) Tim Buckley: Happy Sad, Blue Afternoon, Lorca, Starsailor, Greetings From L.A. Randy Newman: Randy Newman (Creates Something New Under the Sun), 12 Songs, Live, Sail Away, Good Old Boys Bruce Springsteen (I don't think I saw him mentioned): Greetings From Asbury Park, The Wild, the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle, Born to Run, Darkness on the Edge of Town, The River, Nebraska Parliament: Osmium, Up for the

Well, most people hate it, but i find it incredibly funny and interesting. You should at least try it out - the grandma sounds like a man though.

Does anyone, apart from me, like Rehearsing My Choir?

I never watched any of those shows because I never saw anyone listed that I'd be too bothered about hearing, but the idea sounded ok. Although I was never alive during it's height, I miss The Old Grey Whistle Test, because they made a real point of making the sound the most important thing - for example, they made The Wailers turn down their amps to about 1 (something they generally did to capture the best sound for tv) so that the end result would sound something like this: or this (for acoustic artists) May You Never If anyone can find a show that recorded sound better (when they were in

I think the show has been pretty rubbish for a good few years now. They do have a couple of good acts on per season, but 90% of it is no better than the stuff you see on T4 on a sunday morning. Also, when they do have good bands/artists on, in the past they used to put on great performances, now they just seem to put on pretty average ones. The vibe of the show is gone, is what I'm trying to say.

I wouldn't bother with Extras. It was pretty terrible really, but if you've got a multi-region dvd player, then get Spaced definately. Also, other good UK comedies of recent years include: I'm Alan Partridge, The Mighty Boosh, Father Ted, The League of Gentlemen (only the first series though), Pheonix Nights, Nathan Barley, Black Books, Marion & Geoff, Green Wing, The Royale Family, Brass Eye, The Day Today, Jam, um can't think of any more at the moment, but they are all worth seeing long before you try and see Extras - someone else from the UK back me up on this please.

now... and then...

For anyone that likes Hot Fuzz or Shaun Of The Dead, you might want to try and pick up Spaced Series 1 & 2 on dvd (which is from the team behind both movies). I think it is a hell of a lot funnier than either of those films (which certainly weren't bad, but just lacked a little bit of character compared to the tv show). There's a fair bit of the tv show on youtube, this is one of the best clips: paintballing (Peter Serafinowicz - the baddy in this clip - was actually the voice of Darth Maul) Mike: The flags to the north west! Man: How do you know? Mike: I've just seen it Man: This is so
