  1. this thread is completely irrational. I hope you will visit and enjoy it. I've been drinking tonight but listening to my favorite band so everything is cool. For Christmas this year, I've decided to burn a "best of" Wilco for my parents and my sister. They're way into the folk scene of the 60s and I feel like Jeff Tweedy and Wilco are as good as you can get in terms of the "great american songwriter" of the present day. Anyways, for those that put on WIlco and melt like I do, salute!
  2. this is pretty cute http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ht96HJ01SE4
  3. volume 4 of the Bridge School Concerts (Neil & Pegi's charity project) comes out today, interesting tracklist. I see the Groban/Young Harvest Moon duet, as well as Norah Jones' cover of Jesus etc. 01 Ministry: Here They Come (11/2/94) 02 Ministry: Paisley (11/2/94) 03 John Mellencamp: Jackie Brown (10/29/05) 04 Jerry Lee Lewis: Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On (10/30/05) 05 Trent Reznor: Fragile (10/22/06) 06 Trent Reznor: Hurt (10/22/06) 07 John Mayer: Heart of Life (10/27/07) 08 John Mayer: Waiting on the World to Change (10/27/07) 09 Regina Spektor: Ain't No Cover (10/27/07) 10 My Morn
  4. fyi the show's not sold out yet, you can still grab 3 or 4 on the first balcony off ticketmaster
  5. a pic of Zepp in Tokyo, according to google images. kinda hard to guage the size, but it ain't small!
  6. fair enough. i just find that whole album kinda muddy overall, for better or worse. This is really why I love Kicking TV so much - it really brightens up a lot of those AGIB tracks
  7. the version on AGIB isn't that great to be honest. the levels are weird and it just feels lifeless. the Kicking Television version is the complete opposite - perfect levels and a real pulse
  8. looking at the setlists on the current tour, it's shocking to me that Hell is Chrome isn't even on their radar as a possibility live... have they even played it once? imo it's one of their best tunes. A great mood-setter, nice crescendo, ripping guitar section. Even the "come with me" part, albeit a little corny, works perfectly in a live setting in a unifying kind of way
  9. Anyone know if they've announced the new years show at MSG yet? After seeing Wilco, I've tried to make the pilgrimmage to NYC from Toronto every year for this event. My Morning Jacket was last year and was amazing, so I'm hoping for something equally great this time around thanks
  10. putting these aside would eliminate 95% of the content in this thread
  11. well I'm going off his comments that it wasn't smushed at the front. I'm inclined to believe him since the opening act was still on.
  12. as long as you weren't pushing your way up to the front, which it sounds like you weren't doing, then I think you're perfectly in your right to do it. The fact that someone waited 8 hours for a 1/2 full show is not your problem, it's theirs. Sounds to me like some frustrated people just taking their anger out on you. which is lame.
  13. Ah, didn't know that, thanks. Yeah from the looks of the setlist, last night's show sounds like it was even better!
  14. can someone point me to a recent set where the recording quality is especially good? There's just so many in the archive...
  15. My 3rd time seeing Wilco and they sounded better than ever, without a doubt. The last time in Toronto at Massey, I felt like something was off and the show lacked energy. Nothing like the first time I saw them, which was the love-in at MSG on new years. Anyways, this show was phenomenal. The sound from the balcony was insanely good, all kinds of noises bouncing off of everywhere produced quite a trippy effect. Nels completely blew me away, I knew he was good but shit the guy is a maniac. Impossible Germany an obvious highlight, and I really enjoyed hearing One Wing and Theologians. Sha
  16. I don't live too far away from there, gonna pass by soon. Will also try to spread the word a bit great idea, and best of luck with the place!
  17. who's excited!? I would expect Feist to be showing up as well, that is unless she's touring right now can't wait for tonight
  18. KT is great simply for bringing the songs off Ghost is Born to life. I love that album but was never crazy about the way it was mixed in studio. Hell is Chrome for example, is about 100x better on the live CD. Just wish they put Theologians on there too...
  19. that's the thing, they took out full page ads in the weeklys too. Seems like a waste if there was only a few hundred tickets left to sell this morning... a 2nd show would be awesome, if only to screw the scalpers who are now gouging away on craigslist etc for the 14th show
  20. Got pretty lucky this morning. Took me 20 minutes just to get massey hall on the phone, and when I finally did the guy said there was only a few pairs left up at the very top, and a few singles. Was about to hang up and go pay 3x the price on Stub Hub when he finds two 2nd row balconies pop up on his screen. can't wait for this show!
