so when do we get some supporting act announcements?
-
Yeah, you could assume that whoever plays before Wilco will be rocking harder, which would contradict the usual crescendo in which a big festival day is formatted. If they're doing it so people leave in a calm and orderly fashion then it's an insult to the band imo. that said, there's probably enough Wilco fans in Vancouver, Seattle and Portland to warrant this, they deserve it and they'll bring the heat I'm sure
-
yeah the view is insane, and the photo doesn't even capture the true awe of being there. wow, Wilco to close the final day, that's pretty huge but don't you want something more epic and banging to finish a big fest? I'd probably favour Wilco during the day or at dusk. the last Sasquatch I hit, it was REM, The Cure, and then Flaming Lips who closed the nights. The Lips did their UFO thing and it was so grand that I'm still shook from it 3 years later

Grace Potter and the Nocturnals cover "Muzzle of Bees"

yeah it's not her guitar, it's the other one that comes in more prominently during the solo - which is the best part of the song imo but sounds awful here -
I'm thinking of selling my 2x in Toronto, which are Orchestra row Q. My recent impulsiveness with concert tickets (Pixies, Black Angels, Crystal Castles, Solid Sound) is putting a dent in my credit card and and I'll be seeing the Wilco gang at Mass MoCA anyways. I'm going to sleep on it but I would assume there will be some folks interested here so I'll advise when I know and will let them go at face

guitars seem slightly out of tune at times but her voice is awesome -
2 for Toronto, Orchestra row Q woo!

My local record shop has a Kicking Television which has been sitting there for a quite a while now. I'm amazed that I haven't caved and bought it by now but the $85 + tax price tag is just too steep
-
everything sold out quick last year. Also there's no charge to reserve a hotel room
-
geographically I think it's in a good spot - a few hours drive from several major cities and yet nicely away from all of them. Can't speak for the venue itself but it looks awesome from pics and past reviews. sure it's a bummer if you're not in the Northeast but a consistent venue is important for a festivals growth, especially one without a crazy advertising budget like SS
-
oh yeah, I'm not bothered. Just need a place to sleep and shower between fest days. when the time comes, remind me that you're there - we'll be 2 coming in from Toronto, would be nice to have a potential motel beers crew post-show
-
Just reserved at the Williamstown Motel, looks like a real dump but it's a bed secured and if I see something better I can always upgrade
-
seems like the Holiday Inn online booking gives several suite options if you book from the Thursday through the weekend until the Monday. Otherwise it shows nothing available.

I'm going for sure this year, can't wait!

This isn't Nam, there are rules

How come Wilco doesn't do an annual New Years Eve show?
Turnips replied to Allspread's topic in Just A Fan
MSG 2004 was epic, my first Wilco show and such a crazy night all around -

A thread where you recommend NEW music to PopTodd
Turnips replied to PopTodd's topic in Someone Else's Song
just heard a new album by Tamaryn, called "The Waves" - nice sound if you're into that druggy shoegaze vibe like MBV, M83 etc, you might like it -
yeah it's pretty underwhelming unfortunately. there's a decent hypnotic vibe going on, but not much else. and I agree, there's almost no trace of the original poor places, which is kind of diappointing
-
not sure if this has been posted before, it's an ambient remix of Poor Places by Walls from the UK. Here's a writeup from Kompakt (a major German electronic label for those who don't know) stream or download free here: http://soundcloud.com/nialler9/wilco-poor-places-walls-remix thoughts?

no problem! unfortunately the songs all come in one continuous file. If I have time, I'll split them and repost as a zip

after 4 seasons I'm totally sick of the mad men song. although it's by RJD2, who's done some awesome instrumental hip hop in the past
